The Seawolf Coffee Shop was located on Main Street and served a mix of local politics and business people from around the area. The early years of the coffee shop were challenging for both Seawolf and his employees. The shop was small and only had one oven, so they had to cook their own beans. In addition, they didn't have any machines or equipment to make fresh coffee. However, over time, the Seawolf Coffee Shop developed into one of Piqua's most popular businesses. They became known for their quality coffee beans and their friendly atmosphere. The store also offered a wide variety of gift items such as mugs and cups, as well as home-cooked meals during lunchtime. The Seawolf Coffee Shop closed its doors in 1975 but it still remains an important part of Piqua's history today. Thanks to its legacy, the store has been able to stay in business for over 50 years!

On October 15, 1815, it became a city and remained so until it merged with the larger Cleveland metropolitan area on January 1, 1999. The original settler population was only 100 people. In 1916 Piqua was one of the first municipalities to recognize women's suffrage. The city of Piqua is located within the Greater Cleveland statistical area. The population of Piqua peaked at over 300,000 in 1950 but has since declined slightly to around 200,000 residents today. Although its economy is primarily based on agriculture and services such as health care and education, some businesses do have a presence in technology and finance sectors such as GEICO or American Express. Piqua's rich history can be traced back to 1812 when Germans arrived in what is now northeastern Ohio looking for land to settle after fleeing Prussia during the Napoleonic Wars. They were successful enough in getting land that they founded their own township which they called "Pqua." A few years later they moved out of their township into another one which they named "Wexford." After some more name changes they arrived at what we know today as Piqueo where they erected a log cabin and began farming their new land. They started off small but quickly realized that this location had great potential for growth due to its natural resources like coal and timber which could be used for manufacturing or shipping goods throughout the region.
