Perrysburg, Ohio is a small town in theuy of Harrison County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,651 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. The first policeman gift history in Perrysburg occurred on July 4th, 1892 when H.W. Phelps donated a police revolver to the town. The first patrol car in Perrysburg was purchased by the town council on December 5th, 1927 and eventually became known as "Phelps." On November 14th, 1941 an Oldsmobile marked "Perrysburg" was donated to the department by John Denton and his wife Sadie for use as their personal vehicle for patrols around their home village. This Oldsmobile remained with the department until it was replaced by a new police car in 1967; this cars remain operational today and are currently stored at the Department's headquarters across from First Baptist Church. On February 3rd, 1990 Police Officer Wendell Clements bought a used Ford Crown Victoria from Bill Gorman of Delaware Township for use as patrol vehicle number 714 within our department along with his two others which were also gifts from citizens of Delaware Township- Donnie Dietrich ( Patrol Car No 2) and Charlie Kappel ( Patrol Car No 6). The Ford Crown Vic served Perrysburg Police Department until it was replaced by our current squad car model in 2002 which is now stored at our Department's headquarters across from First Baptist Church! In addition to its service with us during these many years it has been displayed prominently throughout our Village Hall every year during Ed's annual Christmas tree Lighting Ceremony!

The town began to prosper due to its location near two large water supplies - the Muskingum River to the south and Beaver Creek directly to the north - and its connection by railroad to Dayton and other major cities in central Ohio. This prosperity continued until World War II when industry dried up due to increased competition from abroad and falling prices for natural resources at home. The decline of manufacturing also caused Perrysburg's unemployment rate to exceed 20%. However, through aggressive marketing efforts over the past few decades Perrysburg has regained some lost ground in terms of GDP per capita rankings relative to nearby towns such as Dayton or Miamisburg; while still ranking below average among all U.S.-based communities measured by this metric (including those within 25 miles of Cincinnati). Despite these challenges, many residents remain optimistic about their community's future – buoyed by recent investments such as new parks, libraries/museums/arts venues and new housing developments geared towards younger families with children or those seeking more active lifestyles outside of work or school opportunities (e.g., walking trails around downtown).

By 1920, however, there were only a few hundred residents remaining in the town. In 1998, Perrysburgh's historical district was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
