Parma Heights is a town in Defiance County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron metropolitan area. The first permanent European settlement in what is now Defiance County was made by Anthony Wayne and his followers on July 4, 1777, when they were driven from their land west of the Scioto River by French forces under Marquette. In 1802 Parma Heights was organized as a village within Defiance County and incorporated as a town on February 13, 1907. The name "Parma" comes from nearby Mount Parnassus (now part of Geauga Lake). On September 15, 1912 an act to renamedefiancecountythetownofparmawaspassedbythelegislatureofohio. The new name honored James A. Garfield who had died two weeks earlier in office as President of the United States. In 1957 the population ofDefiancecountywasraisedto2,373whenanewincorporationcame intobeing namedDefiance Muniway Co., Incorporated August 15th 1957 with headquarters located at 5200 Springdale Road in central Parma Heights where we continue to operate today with over thirty years experience! Today Parma Heights sees many people coming for its excellent schools including: Stroudsburg Area Middle School; Dublin-Warren Local School District; Cleveland Municipal Schools; defiant county high school which offers classes such as Science/Technology/Math; Business Administration/Marketing; Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement; Technical Institute – Defense Technologies Corporation (DTC) which offers students courses such as Electronics Technology or Hospitality Management and many more! Parma Heights is a small town in the Miami-Dade County, Florida region of the United States. It is located in the central portion of Miami-Dade County and was founded by Italian Americans. The population was 7,782 at the 2010 census. According to the 2010 United States Census, it had a total area of 1 square mile (0.6 km²), all of it land. Parma Heights' roots can be traced back to 1857 when Antonio Rinaldi settled on a plantation near what is now Parma Heights. In 1863, Luigi Mazzucato purchased 640 acres (248 ha) of land from John Crain and built two houses on it: one for himself and one for his wife Giovanna de la Cruz and their six children; they named their home Villa Mazzucato after Mazzocato's ancestor Mantonio Vespucci who had come to America in 1623 as part of Giovanni da Verrazzano's expedition that discovered Florida. In 1885, Angelo Ferraris came to live here with his family while he worked as an agriculturalist for Vespucci & Company. Five years later, Ferraris donated 2,500 acres (1 km²) ofland to Parma Heights Cemetery which became an integral part of the town center. The first post office in Parma Heights opened in 1895; however, effective October 10th 1897 because postal service was suspended due to Hurricane Andrew’s damage some mailboxes were used without doors until 1898 when new boxes were delivered; this caused some confusion since many residents did not know how to open old mailboxes so they put new ones back into use). Theodore Roosevelt visited Parma Heights on July 12th 1906 while campaigning for president during his Bull Moose campaign against New York Governor James Kavanagh – Roosevelt noted that "the people hereabouts are very friendly", adding "I have never seen anything more comfortable or helpful than these old people". On November 3rd 1912 Mrs Roosevelt hosted her brother-in-law Franklin D Roosevelt at her homeatial estate Biltmore House during his visit specifically for law enforcement officers who responded to National Guard encampments around Miami Beach following September 11th attacks on New York City - numerous items from FDR's bedroom suite at Biltmore are currentlyOn display at the University Museum Of American History in Washington D.C.. Later that year Ferraris donated another 2 thousand acres (1 km²)to Citrus Park adjoining Fine Arts Drive which became home turf of then Mayor Manuel Diaz who helped establish city services including parks and recreation areas within Citrus Park boundaries; early mayors such as Alvarez also enjoyed access to city amenities like tennis courts, golf courses and swimming pools within hours’ travel from their homespun precincts.. By 1924 there were over 100 families living HERE with 50 businesses providing essential services such as grocery store bakery insurance phone system water delivery sewerage trash collection firefighting products…. Today we still have our churches community events library open Heartfelt warmth continues throughout every day I spend living here….. ” In 1925 school board member Dr Wm Hite said "It has been my privilege 'to have known Mrs Roosevelt personally'" . Parma Heights was one of three towns in the Cincinnati area that were merged into the city of Cincinnati on July 1, 1871. The merger was named for John P. Hennepin, an American statesman who had been a delegate to the United States Congress from Minnesota and served as a U.S. Minister to Russia from 1868-1870.
