The Norton National Guard was first organized in 1903. The Norton National Guard is a unit of the United States Army that is responsible for the defense of the nation's borders and citizens. The guard has been present since 1903 and its first Commander-In-Chief was Major General George Armstrong Custer. Since its inception, the Norton National Guard has had manyMembers from all walks of life. Some who have served include: Generals George Washington Carver, Ulysses S. Grant, Benjamin Franklin Butler, William Tecumseh Sherman, and James A. Garfield. These men and women have made an impact on our country through their service to their country and we are proud to have them as part of our community. Today, the Norton National Guard enjoys continued support from both governmental entities as well as private individuals throughout the area it patrols. In 2018 alone, they responded to over 100 calls for service! This demonstrates not only dedication but also solidarity between our community members and our national guard; something that is important to remember when considering giving a gift or donation to any organization or cause!
The National Guard is a term that has been used for various organizations and individuals throughout the United States. The National Guard can be found in virtually every state, but it is most commonly found in states with a military background. There are many benefits to having a National Guard unit stationed in your area, including providing law enforcement and security services, providing support for local communities, and even being called upon to help with events or emergencies. In addition to these duties, the guard also provides education opportunities for members of the public who may be interested in joining the military or becoming a law enforcement officer. There have been numerous efforts made over the years by both the federal government and individual states to get members of the National Guard into service. One such effort was Operation Homefront which started in 2002 and ended in 2006. This program involved sending soldiers and marines from various states directly to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Another initiative was The Patriot Project which began in 2007 and ran until 2009. This program involved sending soldiers from across the country directly to Afghanistan as part ofOperation Enduring Freedom. Despite these efforts, there still remains an large gap between how many people are actually deployed to serve their country overseas versus how many people are actually deployed on duty within their own state or nation-wide capacity. A study done by IHS Jane’s Defence Weekly showed that only 14% of all active duty troops were serving outside of their home state or district when they were called up for duty- this number jumps to 38% if you include forces Deployed Overseas (FDO).* These numbers don’t take into account those who have served since deployments stopped being authorized under Defense Authorization Act (DAA) section 902(a)(2), which means any soldier deemed no longer needed back at home can now be deployed anywhere at anytime without notification or comment from Congress; however this shouldn’t stop Active Duty troops from deploying should an emergency arise abroad*. It is important that we start considering what our Armed Forces can do more effectively when it comes time for them to deploy so we can prevent potential disaster like Katrina or Sandy from happening again down the road*.
The Norton National Guard has been part of the United States military since 1795. The unit was activated in 1917 as a militia unit and served in World War I and World War II. It currently consists of approximately 36,000 soldiers and civilians who serve in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Pennsylvania and New York.
Norton is a city in and the county seat of Ross County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,633 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron–Canton–Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The first Europeans to visit Norton were French traders in 1692 and 1693. The town was platted in 1811 by Nicholas Hickey, a lawyer from Flyden Township. A post office called Norton was established in 1814, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907.
In 1865, General Ulysses S. Grant made his headquarters at Norton before he moved north to Cleveland to take command of Union forces during the American Civil War. In 1870, Norton became the county seat when Ross County was divided into two parts for political reasons following the Kansas–Nebraska Act which granted statehood to Nebraska Territory.
A new courthouse was built on Main Street between State and Erie Streets in 1897−98 with funding provided by local landowner John Drexel who also donated funds for a park adjacent to his home on Fort Harrison Boulevard across from City Hall. When that building burned down in 1938, Drexel donated replacement materials including an engine house and other buildings near where he lived until his death in 1984. In 1966−67, $1 million dollars were raised through private donations to help finance renovation of City Hall which included new columns and lighting fixtures among other improvements; this project finished ahead of schedule and cost over $2 million less than budget.'Norton's First Citizen: His Story',

The National Guard has been providing support to the United States since 1790. The Guard's history starts with President George Washington's call for a militia in 1792. The Militia Act of 1792 created the first national guard and named it the "National Guardsman." In 1815, Congress passed the National Defense Act which provided for a standing army and made the National Guard into an operational force. The act also authorized the president to call up units from state militias if necessary to fight in war. In 1861, when Confederate forces invaded America, President Abraham Lincoln called up national guard troops to help protect our Union. After three years of continuous combat, the Union was successful and slavery was abolished. However, due to its continued participation in warfare during Reconstruction period (1877-1913), many Southerners saw the National Guard as a tool of white control over black Americans. This led to increased calls for disbanding or reducing its role in American society. In 1920, both Houses of Congress passed legislation calling fornational guardsmen reserves within each state so that they could be used if necessary during any future food crisis or economic downturns. Unfortunately, this effort failed to receive significant support from either side of politics and only 9% of military recruits were actually drafted into active duty until well into World War II. Since then, there have been numerous attempts by Presidents and Congresses to reestablish national guard presence throughout America while preserving its unique culture and history. In 1996, then-President Bill Clinton designated Memorial Day as "National Guard Day" in order to recognize all past efforts and keep open lines of communication between these organizations and our military population at large. Today, there are more than 350 thousand active duty members across America who serve under different banners including law enforcement officers (the Drug Enforcement Administration is one example), firefighters/rescue workers (911 responders), veterans groups (USO corps members), community service officers (COPSOs) - all with a shared mission: To protect our nation by fighting crimeand terrorism while fostering social responsibility

Norton, Ohio is a small town in the U.S. state of Ohio, located about 20 miles southwest of Cleveland on the border of Lake Erie and Butler County. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. Norton was founded by settlers from New York City in 1810 as a trading post on the Great Lakes. Norton became an important stop on the Underground Railroad during the American Civil War because it was one of only three towns in central Ohio that refused to cotton up to slavery. In 1868, Norton became part of the newly formed United States when it absorbed much of what is now Pennsylvania and West Virginia into its territory. After Union GeneralUlysses S. Grant captured Cincinnati in 1863, he decided that if he were going to capture allof Ohio he needed somewhere to hold his prisoners until they could be transferred elsewhere or exchanged. He chose Norton because it was unoccupied by Confederate forces and had a large railroad connection with other northern cities- something that would be valuable for Northern soldiers being held hostage inside Confederate lines. On July 4th, 1863, General Grant set up camp near Norton and ordered his men not to fire unless they saw movement within 500 yards (460 m). After hours passed without any sign of movement or life inside the fortification, some Confederate officers started shooting out windows in an attempt to get information out before surrendering unconditionally. As night began to fall, most officers decided that they would rather fight another day rather than give up their weapons and negotiate terms with Union forces under General Nathan Bedford Forrest instead- an event which is still celebrated each year as Battle Of Norton Day in commemoration of this event。 In 1865 after the war ended, many Northerners who had served in the Union army returned home but many more remained behind in Tennessee and North Carolina due to Sherman’s “Open Season” policy towards civilian populations living withinUnion lines-a strategy designed to break down morale among critical noncombatant groups like African Americans who made up a large percentage of these populations). So while many people from Norton moved back into town following Victory Over Reconstruction there were also several hundred Northerners who stayed behind including many miners who continued working long days underground despite lack of food or water available aboveground; this group forms what is known as The Mining Company families today.). In 1892 when America achieved its first successful oil well drilling operation onshore at Bellefonte Hills offshore off Wilmington Island south shore), local residents John Paddock (an early settler)and others decided it would make sense for them too drill for oil so they pooled their resources and bought a rig christened “The Pioneer” from Midland Drillers Ltd.; however even with good intentions few wells were drilled until 1917 when successfully drilled The Cedar Point No 2 Field located just east sideof Fort Washington Rd./Norton Rd., just west sideof White Oak Dr./southwest cornerof Edward Mill Rd/just east sideof Westminster Ave./northwest cornerOF Ottawa Ave./just north sideOF Ottawa Mill Rd.– these five wells combined produced over 8 million barrels (3 million cubic meters) crude oil equivalent representing over 60% all production from new oil fields across United States during WWI]. 2174
