The first coffee beans were roasted in Norton, Ohio, in 1847. The town of Norton was located on the border of Kentucky and Ohio. In 1853, a man by the name of John Fetterman started a small store in Norton that sold coffee. In 1865, Fetterman's son-in-law purchased the business from his father-in-law. The first espresso machine was made in 1926 and it took multiple roasters many years to perfect the recipe for one that yielded consistently high quality espresso products. Today, there are only a few small businesses left that still roast coffee beans and sell them direct to consumers.

Norton was founded in 1824 by General John Green Norton and his wife Maria Green Norton, who also founded what is now Sayreville. It became an incorporated village in 1868. The town's first settler was John Fenton, who platted what is now Norton on landPurchase from the Wyandot tribe on November 3, 1824. A post office called Norton was established in 1830, and remained in operation until it closed in 1903. The village of Norton was chartered on February 9,1868, but did not come into full force until March 1, 1870 when all of Muskingum County became part of the new state of Ohio. In 1898–99 a fire destroyed most of downtown along with many homes; however as renovation began soon after that fire Dutch Reformed churches were built to replace some lost homes which helped to rebirth downtown as a commercial center during the late 1800s-early 1900s era In 1916 Drury University opened its doors for its first ever classes; this marked the beginning of what would be known as one-of-a-kind educational opportunities for students living outside Columbus or Lima County Norton continued to grow and prosper through annexations by other villages throughout the early 21st century while still remaining unincorporated; however annexation has generally been more sporadic then significant due to community opposition

The Dutch founded Roemer's Coffeehouse in New Amsterdam in 1624 which became one of the earliest commercial houses selling coffee. In 1689, Nicholas-Jacques Conte opened his first French café on St. Mark's Place in Manhattan where he served French press coffee with milk and sugar until his death in 1759. The Boston Tea Party was precipitated by an issue with Dutch merchants who wanted to purchase English tea at a lower price than their British counterparts without having to give up their prized commodity of coffee. This event is generally considered to be one of the beginning days of modern cupofinee (coffee drinking). In 1812, Pierre-Simon Laplace founded what is now known as Le Pavillon de la Condamine near Paris on rue des Orfèvres (now boulevard Saint Michel) with the goal of providing high quality roasted Arabica beans direct to consumers rather than through middlemen. At its peak during World War II, Le Pavillon had over 100 employees making it one of France's leading commercial institutions for roasted coffee exports before it was destroyed by bombing during World War II. After Le Pavillon's destruction, roasting operations passed into private hands and are still conducted under different names throughout France today including La Côte d’Azur Gourmet Coffee Company Ltd., Rang Mahal Turkish Coffee House & Café (), La Moka () and L’Atelier de la Connaissance du Cocoa (). It is interesting to note that while many cafes around the world offer customers pre-packaged blends or single origin coffees from well-known roasters such as Starbucks®, Dunkin' Donuts® or Peet's®, few cafés still roast their own beans - most commonly due to environmental concerns about deforestation and land usage for other crops however some exceptions include Pouilly Fouché located within walking distance from both Notre Dame Cathedral and Les Invalides Museum which continues plantations even though production has decreased significantly over recent decades

Norton, Ohio is a small town in the heart of the Toledo metropolitan area. The population was 7,853 at the 2010 census and 8,362 as of 2018. It is located in Lucas County on the southern edge of the University of Toledo campus. Norton was platted in 1824 by Captain George Norton and others who fought in the War for Independence. The first store built in Norton was a general store run by General John Potter. During World War II, Norton served as an airbase for RAF Station Tuttle which operated from nearby Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. During that time, many famous people lived or worked here including President Harry Truman and General Dwight Eisenhower. After the war ended, Norton gradually lost its importance as a commercial center but retained its status as a farming community with large fields and Angus cattle herds until it became known for its wine production during Prohibition years (1921-1933). In recent decades, Norton has become known for its arts and culture scene with several cultural events taking place annually including Poetry Nights at The Well restaurant (a popular open mic night) and art shows at The Artscape Gallery & Museum (an art museum). In 1916 when Captain George Norton established what is now called "The Mountaineers" Club to promote physical fitness through hiking and climbing within fifty miles of Cincinnati he laid out plans to build what would become one of America's most important tourist attractions - Norton Mountain Resort & Spa - today home to more than 20 luxury hotels including four Marriott properties: The Ritz-Carlton; Grand Hyatt; Mandarin Oriental; Four Seasons Hotel Boston; Regency Park Lodge];Westinhotelsand Resorts.; Wyndham Garden ResortHotels., more than 100 bed/bath resorts scattered throughout North America., golf courses totaling over 650 acres distributed throughout twenty states., tennis courts providing access to more than 12 million square feet of indoor court space.,The world's largest ski resort,, wineries along both sides of Route 9 from California to New York City,, retail shops selling all types of souvenirs from mountain scenery to seasonally appropriate clothing
Norton was founded in 1827 by John Norton, an Englishman. The town is located in the northwestern corner of Ohio and it is named after John Norton, who donated land to the town. The first store in Norton opened in 1828. In 1829, the first school was built in Norton. The first post office was established in Norton in 1830. In 1839, a sawmill and gristmill were built in Norton. A cotton gin and distillery were also constructed in Norton during this time. In 1865, a railroad station was built in Norton. The population of Norton grew from around 100 people to over 2,000 people by 1900. By 1916, the population of Norton had decreased to just under 500 people due to World War I and Prohibition
