The United States Air Force has been deployed to many different places in the world, but Mount Vernon is one of the few communities that has seen USAF service multiple times. The USAF’s Deployed Gift History program was started in 1987 and it has since grown into a significant part of the USAF culture. In 1987, the USAF began deploying gift-filled cargo planes to various locations around the world. The idea behind this program was to helpift local cultures with new and innovative technology. These planes would often stay for extended periods of time and allow for close interactions between locals and visiting airmen from overseas. Today, the AFBDeployedGiftHistory program continues to play an important role in USAF culture. It allows members of the community to interact directly with their military friends and counterparts on a regular basis. This interaction helps build trust and mutual respect among troops stationed abroad. In addition, it provides unique insight into how US military service affects everyday life back at home – something that is often not available through other forms of media outreach.

Mount Vernon is a small town in Sandusky County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,853 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in what is now Mount Vernon Township was Nicholas Henshaw, who arrived on horseback from Pennsylvania in 1812 and built a log cabin on the east side of present-day Mount Vernon Road. In 1815, John Cephus bought land here and began to develop it as a farming community with his own store, barns, and outbuildings. He named his community after George Washington's plantation at Mount Vernon in Virginia. By 1830, other settlers had gathered around him and he developed into an expanding commercial center with three stores and several sawmills; by 1840 he had 10 businesses employing 350 workers. In 1846–47 Andrew Jourdain donated land to form the township which became its namesake. In 1855–56 Major General James Aiken laid out a township plan which incorporated all of Sandusky County except for portions of Medina and Scioto counties lying north of the water course between Tuscarawas and Erie Rivers (the eastern edge of what is now Akron). When that area became part of Cleveland in 1907, Mount Vernon Township remained unincorporated within Cleveland limits until its annexation by Cleveland in 1912. As part of this process it lost its status as an unincorporated village but received cityhood under charter granted on April 15, 1912 by Mayor John Matson (a Democrat). In 1932–33 the city annexed parts of neighboring Euclid Heights Village also located within Cleveland limits; these annexations left Mount Vernon with just over one-third of the total population within city boundaries (it was still less than half when annexed into Cleveland itself). Since incorporation into the city it has experienced steady growth both politically and economically as one of Greater Cleveland's largest suburbs; today it has about 3300 residents inside its borders whileits sister villages have merged to form Oakwood Village west side suburbia—making it home to some 50% Black American citizens (the highest percentage among any municipality in Greater Cleveland) along with high concentrations Of Latino(Hispanic) residents (+30% since 2000), Asians (-1%), Androgens (-5%), younger people (-10% since 2000), retirees (+3%), college students (−2%)and single parents (−10%). Located along scenic routes such as Route 66/Cleveland National Airport or Canfield Hills Drive running through rolling farmland southward from downtownCLEVELAND -A place where culture meets commerce...One could say that history happened here!
