Gourmet coffee has been around for quite some time in Monroe, Ohio. The first Gourmet Coffee shop opened up in the early 1990’s and continued to grow until it was bought out by Starbucks. In 2003, The Monroe Coffee Company opened their first café in downtown Monroe and continues to serve delicious gourmet coffee every day of the week. The history of Gourmet Coffee can be traced back to when two friends decided to open a small café together in 1990. Back then, there were no internet cafés or even any real cafes nearby so they had to do everything themselves. They started serving great cups of coffee with fresh ingredients from their own garden which helped them keep costs low and continue growing over the years. Today, Gourmet Coffee is one of the most well-known and respected brands in the area and continues to rock!

Monroe coffee history started in 1854 when the first German immigrant, Wilhelm Schneidersaft, opened a small grocery and coffee house in the town. Schneidersaft's shop was one of the early shops that sold coffee beans from Africa. The Hoffmann family ran the business until it closed in 1886. In 1892, Landon Buehler bought Schneidersaft's store and continued to run it as his own business. In 1914, Fritz Kapp purchased the store and reopened it as a coffee house with an Italian-themed restaurant inside. Kapp also introduced what is now called Monroe Coffee Roasters (MCR) into the business in 1924. MCR became one of Ohio's largest roasting companies and continues to operate today as one of the oldest continuously operating cafes in Cincinnati.
Monroe is a small town in the heart of the Ohio Valley. The population was 6,879 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Tippecanoe River and has a large agricultural industry. Monroe is also known for its education and business opportunities, which have led to it becoming an important center for technology and banking.
The coffee industry has always been a reflection of the society in which it is located. Coffee was first brewed and enjoyed by hunter-gatherers over 10,000 years ago. The first coffeehouses were opened in Venice in 1624, and the very first Starbucks opened up in Seattle, Washington in 1977. The origins of espresso are also shrouded in mystery, but it is widely believed that it was invented at an Italian cafe named Pazzi’s on Columbus Circle in 1770. Espresso became popularized throughout Europe after Navy Captain John Harrison discovered espresso beans while sailing through the Mediterranean Sea on his ship HMS Bounty (1688). Harrison's discovery helped to spread the word about this unique drink all over the continent. In 1847, Dutchman De Witt Vonden started trading coffee beans with Java for goods such as rice and cloth. In 1853, he founded what is now known as Indonesia's oldest coffee house – Ngurah Rai Coffee House – which remain one of Jakarta's most important tourist destinations today.Between 1857 and 1916, various Dutchmen travelled to Java to purchase coffee from local farmers and roasted their own beans at their plantations there before exporting them back to Holland. This gave rise to what we now know as Dutch-Javanese coffee culture. In 1916, Netherlands' largest plantation company Buitenlandse Boekhandel (IB) merged with Philips Nederlandsche Verpakking (PNV) forming Philips Nederlandsche Verpakking en Co., Ltd.(PNV&C). From 1922 until 1949 PNV&C ran several whollyowned subsidiaries including Asahi Kojaku Kabushiki Kaisha (AKK), later renamed Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC) due to its tie-in with Japan's biggest industrial conglomerate during World War II; during that time PNV&C produced more than 60% of Japan's cigarette output! During World War II Japanese forces occupied Indonesian territories including Sumatra where they began extraction of natural resources such as oil and rubber for use within Japan itself. This resulted in a large amount of decaffeinated coffee being exported back into India via Singaporean ports - something that Indian traders were aware of because they had sourced these resources from nearby Java prior to Japanese occupation! Consequently, when Allied Forces invaded Indonesia on 15 JUNE 1945 they found many tonnes of decaffeinated Japanese cigarettes still lying around! After liberation Indonesian authorities set up a program called "Kecalaan Acapulco" or "Governor Acapulco" which aimed to return confiscated properties/assets etc back into the hands of their rightful owners/users/occupiers! Unfortunately however this never fully transpired as some 350 tons Of Tea Tree Cigarettes still remains unaccounted for today!

Monroe is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Monroe County. The population was 26,734 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1811 by Captain John Monongahela and two other men as a trading post on the National River between Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Chillicothe, Ohio. The name derived from an early settler called Montego who had come to this area in 1792 after leaving his native Jamaica for America with his family. Monroe became a village in 1827 when it was annexed by Portsmouth Township. The first post office in Monroe opened in 1828 and remained open until 1903 when it was moved to Clevestersburg due todistance considerations. In 1879, PresidentUlysses S. Grant named Monroe "the most important place on American soil" because of its strategic location on both sides of the river taking advantage of developments such as railways and canals that linked Cleveland with Cincinnati, Kentucky and Columbus, Ohio respectively." A monument marking the occasion has been located at the courthouse square since 1984.. In 1921, General Motors built its largest manufacturing plant outside Detroit; part of it still stands today near downtown Monroe.. The city's economic fortunes changed dramatically during World War II when war production increased demand for small town products such as munitions made here including rubber stamps used by military commanders). factories were built along I-71/I-76 east of downtown which led to growth around what is now known as Midtown Monroe During that time many famous Americans lived or visited there including Franklin D Roosevelt (whom president Truman once compared to George Washington) Harry Truman (vice president), Eleanor Roosevelt (First Lady), Joe McCarthy (Senator from Wisconsin), Johnny Appleseed (founder of apple tree cultivation), Wayne Allyn Root (director general for air traffic control under Eisenhower) among others... several companies have closed down or are being acquired by larger ones over recent years such as FirstEnergy Corporation which manufactures nuclear reactors; Alcoa whose aluminum smelting operations were situated in Lima but closed down after decades of decline but reopened nearby about 15 miles south near Mentor; Covidien Pharmaceuticals which manufactured aspirin here before moving their operations overseas; Goodrich Tire & Rubber Company where tires are made before shipping off to other countries etcetera all while jobs kept coming back into town through jobsITE Inc., formerly known as Jiffy Lube having bought out Covidien’s assets resulted in job growth throughout much of Northeast Ohio...today's economy largely revolves around service industry businesses services like restaurants cafes bars etcetera although some heavy manufacturing has returned with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Land Rover making mobile parts here for their global brands
Monroe is located in the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky area and was founded in 1792. It became a university town in 1847, and it is home to The University of Toledo.
