The city experienced another growth spurt during the 1850s thanks to new transportation methods such as railroads and steamships. During the 20th century, Middletown continued its growth as an important manufacturing center for paper products such as paper cups and envelopes. At the same time, its coffee industry boomed thanks to innovations like pre-ground beans and pod systems. In 1830, William McKinney chosen to be the first Mayor of Cincinnati after being elected governor of Ohio; McKinney chose to move his family to Middletown so that they would not have to leave their home during the political turmoil that followed the death of President George Washington. For many years until 1919 when Cleveland won reelection as president against Adams with only 37 percent ofthe popular vote (and no electoral votes), MiddletOWN served as both Cincinnati's (largest) and Adams' home base while he toured America giving speeches from thereabouts...until finally he moved into his own presidential palace located just east off Vine Street which faced downtown Cleveland! MiddletOWN has experienced several waves of growth over time includingresidential development from modest cottage homes through large two story brick structures until recently culminating with dramatic new highrise developments such as River City Place/RiverCity Tower which are now considered world-class hotels within their respective districts like Rivers Edge Mall/Riverside Center less than two miles away! Likewise small businesses have continued to thrive even during tough times thanks largely to redevelopments such as Town Square/Mall Park which also includes an outdoor dining area complete with a waterfalls waterfall restaurant named Atlantica Grill adjacent thereto! Today there remain many reminders that these hard times were but a moment ago: numerous businesses still operate using traditional marketing methods like door knockers or phone calls; farmers markets are regularly held every Saturday morning throughout most months; services like prodigal son recycling continue unabated especially since this type of service is becoming more common due primarily to increased awareness about climate change; local artists often exhibit their work outdoors around town between shows at venues like PNC Arena or FirstEnergy Stadium etc.; notable residents include current Mayor Rich Beasley who took office in January 2015 after serving one term prior mayor Dan Gilbert who left office after eight consecutive terms

The first coffee was roasted in the ancient city of Athens, some time before 753 BC. Coffee beans were brought to Alexandria, Egypt by the trade caravan of Ptolemy I Soter in 227 BC. The first written mention of coffee is from the Babylonian Talmud (c. 600 AD) where it is mentioned as a drink available only for high priests and their guests. In 17th century Europe coffee became popular as a stimulant and was used to make tea and coffee. The Dutch began importing coffee from Java in 1624 and started to roast it themselves in 1639. Coffee beans were first grown in Africa near Mount Kilimanjaro about 1800 BC but did not spread to other parts of the world until after 1000 AD when traders brought them back to India, China, Indonesia and Europe. Coffee trees are indigenous to South America but reached North America around 30-40 AD with Portuguese settlers who discovered land that would later be called Brazil. Roasting techniques developed over time which included wet milling (crushing the beans under water), air-drying and finally roasting on an open fire or griddle which produced a higher quality cup of coffee than if they had been roasted with a pot or machine.
Middletown is a small town in the U.S. state of Ohio, located about 25 miles south-southwest of Cleveland on the Mahoning River. The population was 2,878 at the 2010 census. Middletown is home to the Virginia Middletown Historic District and much of its architecture date back to 1810. The town was named after David Middletown, an early settler from Connecticut who purchased land here in 1795 and built a small cabin known as "Midshipman's Rest." In 1825, David's son John Prentice bought additional land and renamed the village Middletown for his father's convenience. By 1830, most of this original property had been developed into what is now downtown Middletown. In 1860, when Ohio became a state, MiddletOWN voted to join the Union against Missourians in what became known as the Great Migration. Many members of families that had come here since 1800 left their homes and businesses behind in search of new opportunities in Illinois and other states within the Union. By 1870, nearly all residents of Middletown were white European American Protestants; only 1% were African Americans. during World War II more than 4500 Japanese Americans living in MiddletOWN served in military or naval units stationed throughout America; many are buried at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington D.C., where they were also citizens of our country
