In the early 1800s, Middletown was a small town in central Ohio. It was known for its coffee roasters and its artisans who produced unique beverages such as klah Coffee began to be brewed in Middletown as early as 1796. The first coffee house in the town was built by Nicholas Sparks and his brother-in-law, David Ginther. In 1831, John Middleton opened the first grocery store in Middletown and soon became known for his excellent coffee. Merchants from all over turned up to buy his beans. By 1875, more than seventy businesses had found success Selling coffee and other items including soap, flour, eggs, cheese and other goods. Theodore Roosevelt visited Middletown during the summer of 1892 while he was campaigning for president. He enjoyed sampling some of John Middleton's famous coffee before returning home to continue his political career. After Roosevelt's victory in November 1896, he announced that America would become a "coffee mecca" and started promoting Middletown's coffee industry nationally. In 1928, millionaire businessman Charles Lindbergh purchased the paper mill which used to produce sugar beet molasses and renamed it TheLindbergh Coffee Company. Lindbergh is often cited as the first person to bring American coffee into international prominence due to his advertisements featuring roasted beans from Middletown cafes around the world

The next step is to improve their condition by leaving them undisturbed for at least two weeks. After this time, the beans will start to lose their aroma and flavor as they begin to spoil. However, if you want to keep your artisan coffee stored fresh, you can place it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to four days.
The first coffee shop in Middletown, Ohio was established in 1892 by two farmers, John and Deborah Sampson. The Sampson Coffee Shop served ground-up beans from their farm roasted by Royer Bros. In the early 1990s, the Sampson Coffee Shop was sold to a group of investors who re-opened it as the first commercially licensed Starbucks in Middletown. The new owners renovated and enlarged the shop using state of the art technology and equipment. In September 1997, Starbucks opened its second location in Middletown – this time anchored off State Route 414 on a busy corner lot near I-75. This location became known as "The Star" and continues to serve as the flagship store for Starbucks in Middletown.
Middletown is a town in Athens County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,849 at the 2010 census. The name is derived from the Middletown Township in which it is located. The first permanent settler in Middletown was George Hinkle who arrived there in 1814. He and his family built a cabin on what is now Main Street. In 1824, Benjamin Fenton purchased land near the present day intersection of High and Elm Streets and erected a log cabin called "Fenton's Grove." In 1827, James Waddell came to Middletown from Perrysburg with his family. He built a house on the site of Waddell's Grove which still stands today. Just before he died, he bequeathed $2,000 to the town for its library building project. In 1830, Nicholas Harmon bought land south of present day Elm Street and erected a home called "Harmon's Grove." About this time, also began construction on what would become the town hall which was completed in 1839 by Nathan Smithson and Benjamine Earle. It seated 60 people when completed and served as the center of community life until it burned down in 1957! In 1840–41, John Dickson platted what is now downtown Middletown using land he had been given by Simon Lemoine for that purpose! By 1850, all but one block along High Street were platted out with names such as "Dickson," "McCarty," etc., most likely reflecting early pioneer settlers' surnames rather than their current place of residence! Also during this time period (1850-1860), several stores were opened up including Fenton & Landry's store (now part of JCPenney) on High Street between Elm and Market Streets; Brown & Holder’s grocery store (now known as Home Depot) on State street between Elm and Market Streets; Pemberton’s dry goods store (later known as Sears) on High Street east of State Street between Elm and Market Streets; while Potter & Peck’s blacksmith shop operated at Noe Road just north of Center square until 1861 when it closed because demand for ironclad cannons made forge work cease during that year’s war! Noteworthy absentees from this era include Elijah Whitehead who moved to Independenceville after arriving there about 1850; David Righter who preceded him ; John Capps who replaced him as postmaster in 1861; Moses Robbins who became general superintendent shortly thereafter ! All these businesses closed either because they could not compete against larger rivals or because production ceased due to technological advancements like photography becoming available over seas! With only two exceptions: Fenton & Landry’s store reopened after moving across High Street into an alley behind grain Elevator #1 opposite Masonic Temple around 1865 where it continued to operate until 1971 (!), Richardsons Hardware reopened after moving across State street into an alley next door to Masonic Temple around 1870 – later becoming Richardsons Drugstore !! And lastly our very own Biddle Hardware Company which operated for more than 100 years starting operations November 1st 1895 – December 31st 1995!! A few notable individuals associated with this company throughout its history are Mrs. Anna Biddle Carpenter whose husband Fredrick Biddle ran it during its entire tenure; Mr. Eddy Biddle Sr., grandson Mr.Eddy Biddle Jr., sister Mrs.*Anna*Biddlecurrent ownersince 2006 !"

Middletown was a small town in Ohio from 1809 to 1821. The name means "midtown" and it is located about 25 miles east of Cincinnati on the southern border of the present-day state of Indiana. Middletown was founded by farmers who migrated from what is now West Virginia in the mid-19th century. It became an important center for trade and industry during the 19th century, thanks to its location at the junction of two major canals, the Monongahela and Conemaugh rivers. In 1821, Middletown merged with neighboring unincorporated communities to form what is now called Union Township. After years of growth and development, Middletown experienced a significant decline during the 20th century due to both economic hardships and population growth in nearby suburbs. However, recent revitalization efforts have led to some resurgence in activity within the community, including a new business district that opened up in 2010.
Middletown was founded in 1812 by Captain John Middletown and his wife. The town was named after Middletown, PA, where Captain Middletown had been born in 1768. In 1814, the town received its charter from the Ohio General Assembly. The first residents of Middletown were farmers and their families. By 1825, the population had grown to about seventy-five people. In 1865, the town became a part of the new Duquesne County when it was created from parts of Allegheny and Lawrence counties. It remained an independent municipality until 1938, when it became part of the newly formed Jackson Township in that year's township reorganization.
