The Marine Corps Deployed Gift History program began in 1951 as the United States Marine Corps Christmas Tree Program. The program was designed to provide Marines and their families with unique gifts during the holiday season. Gifts can be anything from a physical gift, like a book or toy, to an electronic gift, like a digital camera or laptop. Over the years, the Marines have given many memorable gifts to loved ones around the world. The Marine Corps deployed gift history in Miamisburg, Ohio back in World War II. The town was originally called Arlington Heights, and it was part of the First Marines Brigade stationed in Cincinnati. In 1948, the brigade was renamed Camp Pendleton and the town annexed into the camp. The Marines first deployed to Korea in 1951 and again in 1953. From there they went on to Vietnam where they fought for three years. They came home in 1975 but kept their presence here through Operation Urgent Fury which invaded Panama. Today, the Marines remain a significant force stationed here with barracks and a number of other buildings housing tools, weapons, vehicles, and other equipment.
Miamisburg is an unincorporated community in Muskingum County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,824 at the 2010 census. Residents of Miamisburg are typically included in the town of Miamisburg and its adjacent villages. The first permanent settler in what is now Miamisburg was John Dickinson in 1814. By 1830, there were six families living here. By 1840, there were ten families living here and by 1850 there were twenty-four families living here. In 1875, a post office called "Miamisburgh" was established; it remained in operation until 1903. The first store on the site of today's Miamisburg opened in 1876; it was closed in 1951. In 1882, a company named the Ohio Central Railroad built a line from Cincinnati to Fort Worth; this line became part of the Pennsylvania Railroad after it took over that company's system. In 1902-1903, the village of Miamisburg erected a public building called "The Peoples House". It served as the village courthouse for many years and also housed a schoolhouse and other village buildings until it burned down in 1955. Miamisburg has several churches: First Baptist (1892), Methodist (1893), Presbyterian (1896), Catholic (1902), Lutheran (1920s) and Pentecostal (2002). There are also several businesses: A&J Forddy's grocery store (1901), Wernher & Auguste's bakery & cafe(1905), Pfeffer Bros.' gas station(1910s) and Tubbs Hardware Store(1969). A park located at 222 Main Street features an amphitheater seating 1,500 people with four stages used for various events such as concerts and holiday shows throughout the year including plays during summer months when stage time is limited or no cost to attend
The United States Marine Corps has a rich and colorful history of deploying gift-giving to servicemen and women around the world. The Corps has sent messengers with presents, made donations to support causes, and given backpacks filled with free items to troops in conflict. In recent years, Marines have even started selling their own t-shirts and hats bearing their favorite Marines’ slogans or images. But the Corps’ most famous gift tradition may be its deployment of gift baskets full of goodies to troops abroad. The first such shipment was made in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1973. At that time, the Marine detachment serving in Beirut was one of just a few American forces stationed in that country. The gifts were distributed by unit commanders on arrival at military bases all over Lebanon as part of an effort to build morale among Marines eager for war against Syrian forces then active in Lebanon. Today, Marines continue sending bouquets—often filled with flowers or chocolates—to foreign service members stationed overseas. And while some recipients may choose not to accept these special deliveries (due largely to concerns about radiation exposure), others often appreciate the gesture completely. For many Marines, gifting is an important way to show appreciation for service and make a difference on behalf of our Troops abroad.

Miamisburg is a port city and the county seat of Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. Miamisburg was founded in 1851 as a small community on the Scioto River near what is now downtown Mahoning City. It grew rapidly during the late 19th century due to its location at the intersection of two major railroads, the Harrison and Erie Railroad and the Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati Railroad. In 1907, Miamisburg became one of twelve cities in Ohio designated as part of the National City Division of America (NCDA). The city was merged with nearby Morenci in 1913 to form Miamisburg-Morenci. During World War II, Miamisburg played an instrumental role in providing munitions for troops stationed in Europe. After the war ended, Miamisburg experienced rapid growth as a manufacturing center. In 2000, it became one of sixteen municipalities in Ohio awarded recognition by Mayor John Cranley as being "the fastest growing municipality" in that state. Today, Miamisburg is known for its eclectic mix of architectural styles from around the world: Art Deco to Victorian Gothic.
Miamisburg is a community in theuy of Miamisburg, Ohio. The village was laid out in 1821 by John Stephenson and named for his wife, Mahalisbeth Stephenson. It was incorporated as a village in 1827. The post office at Miamisburg was established in 1829, and remained in operation until it closed on February 6, 1965.
