Miamisburg is a small town in the Cincinnati metropolitan area, population about 97,000. It was founded in 1846 by brothers George and Amos Maga. The first store in Miamisburg was opened on State Street by George Maga. The first coffee shop in Miamisburg was called the Blue Bottle Coffee House and it served coffee from a pot on the ground. In 1872, Amos Maga started a business that became known as the Koffee Klatch Store. At that time, Koffee Klatch Coffee House was one of the most popular places to buy coffee in Miamisburg. In 1945, two brothers named Harry and John Gorman bought the Koffee Klatch Store and changed its name to J&J's Coffee Shop. In 1951, Harry Gorman passed away and his brother John took over ownership of J&J's Coffee Shop. In 1957, J&J's Coffee Shop moved to its current location on West Main Street in Miamisburg. That same year, the original maga sign was installed at J&J's Coffee Shop! Since then, J&J's has been locally owned and operated for over sixty years! Today, it remains one of Miamisburg’s oldest businesses with an extensive collection of coffee beans from all around the world!

Miamisburg was founded in 1826 by Nicholas W. Maga and his wife, Lucy C. Maga. Miamisburg is the second oldest town in Ohio and the first in the Cincinnati metropolitan area. The population of Miamisburg was 1,500 when it incorporated as a village in 1881. In 1907, Miamisburg became a city and has since grown to encompass over forty-seven thousand residents.
Miamisburg is located in Hamilton County, Ohio, and is the seat of Miamisburg Township. The population was 497 at the 2000 census. It has a GDP per capita of $53,872. Miamisburg consist of 8 wards which are: North Ward (north of Canal), Central Ward (south of Canal), East Ward (east of I-670), WestWard (west of I-670). According to the 2010 census, there are also 3 villages within Miamisburg township: Chardon Village, Hubbardstown Village and Tomball Village. The name "Miamisburg" originated from the Potawatomie people who were natives to this area before European settlement began. The first mention of Miamisburg was in 1814 when General James Kieft sent three companies under Colonel Ziegler to purchase land in what is now Hamilton County for a military post. In 1825, Major John Hennepin donated land near present day University Circle for a school district that would become known as Miamisburg Township. In 1845, Captain Philip Kearny founded an iron foundry in what is now Tomball Village and named it Kearny & Company after himself and his brother Captains Philip Kearny and Cornelius Vanderbilt. This company produced cast iron products until 1870 when it merged with another company to become Metzger & Company. After several years production ceased due to lack of market demand for cast iron products in America during the American Civil War era; however some pieces still remain on display at Metzger Company Museum today! In 1907, local businessman George Stephenson donated 1/2 acre on State Route 7 between US 15E and SR 620N for use as a “railroad village” by means of which farmers could move their crops onto railroad tracks while they awaited delivery from rear warehouses or one mile away! At first this village consisted only of running water but eventually homes were built along both sides of the track! Today this village still contains many original buildings dating back to 1907 including a large railroad depot used by GEICO during WWII! In 1922, Dayton Electric Railway Co., later WABash RailroadCo., acquired 100 acres north eastof town limits for erection of a electric power plant utilizing natural gas available from shale beds lying beneath Beech Creek Valley!! Construction began on December 12th 1922 and finished on April 25th 1923!!! This landmark project allowed Dayton’s growth into an ever growing city!!! Today we enjoy excellent public transportation options through our wonderful Metro Area!!!! Today's economy around region continues strong with numerous businesses expanding their operations into new markets all over United States!!!! Miamisburg is a town in Pickaway County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbus metropolitan area. The first settler in what would become Miamisburg was John Bolton in 1792. He and his family erected a cabin on the north side of the Scioto River. He named his settlement after his mother's birthplace, Mount Pleasant Township, Pennsylvania. In 1812, Joshua Ladd homesteaded land near present-day Miamisburg and two years later built a grist mill on the Scioto River using water power from an old Native American hunting lodge he had discovered while exploring the area. In 1814, pioneer James Atherton established a store and post office at what is now downtown Miamisburg, which became one of the most important commercial centers in central Ohio until it closed its doors in 1945. In 1830, Ohio State Senator David Williams founded Miamisburg Academy to provide education for boys from rural areas who could not attend college because of financial restraints or lack of space at local schools. The school continued operation until 1955 when it merged with Cleveland State Teachers College to form The Cleveland State University System. In 1905–06, during construction of FirstEnergy Stadium across the river in Columbus (now Nationwide Arena), Miamisburg residents generously donated their homes and businesses for use as stadium seating; this led to calls for similar events throughout Greater Cincinnati over subsequent decades and eventually resulted in FirstEnergy Stadium being renamed "Miamisburgh Stadium" in honor of our townspeople in 2007. Miamisburgh has been home to many civic organizations that have contributed significantly to community life including: its first city council (1839), its first fire department (1854), its first library (1872), its first ambulance service (1910), its first police department (1925), and its first branch library (1983). Additionally, several prominent scientific individuals were born or educated here including Nobel Prize winners JPL physicist Robert Hoyle and chemist Joseph Kittinger; climatologist Neil Armstrong; astronomer Edwin Hubble; physician Drsgr Richard Rushmore Coxell; chemist Lewis Thomas Weingarten; author Wm Henson McCullough III; representative Bob Neyman from 2006-2010; former Mayor Jim Neuman ; current Mayor Jeff Girard .
