Mentor, Ohio is home to the first coffee plantation in the United States. The coffee beans were grown on a parcel of land that was donated by John D. Rockefeller. In 1892, Rockefeller founded the First National Coffee Company in Mentor and began marketing coffee as a premium product. The company grew rapidly and by 1922, it had become one of the largest coffee companies in America. In 1951, First National merged with two other large coffee companies to form American Coffee Corporation (ACC). At ACC, David Rockefeller served as president and CEO for more than 20 years until his death in 2006. During his time at ACC, he helped develop some of the most iconic brands in America such as Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts. He is also responsible for creating one of the most successful economic engines in American history. After David Rockefeller's death, his son Chase took over as president and CEO of ACC. Under Chase's leadership, ACC continued to grow rapidly while maintaining its high-quality standards. In 2016, AAC announced that it would close its doors for good after 43 years of operation due to plummeting sales around the world. This left Mentor with only a single remainingNotable business: ACR Coffee Holdings Inc., which operates a small cafe located inside the former factory building on East Main Street across from Stroudsburg University where acrobatics classes are conducted year-round.) The early history of espresso can be traced back to Florence de' Medici who imported Italian espresso beans from Rome circa 1512 AD. For many years afterwards espresso was thought to be an Italian drink exclusive to courtiers and elites only - although this may not have been strictly true! Englishmen started brewing their own versions of espresso about 1660 AD but these were typically just thin mixtures of water or milk with sugar or honey added; they were not classed as 'espresso'. By 1750s both French macchiatos (a type of café), bagels etc had appeared throughout North America; they being popularized there by Loyalists during King George's War (1756-1765). It was whilst studying at Glasgow University in Scotland that Professor Pietro Metternich discovered how best to make perfect espresso - this process still remains largely unchanged today! However Luigi Bezzera managed to improve upon Metternich's original recipe sufficiently so that La Caffeetteria opened up shop near Piazza San Marco – now part of Venice – back in 1868! From then until fairly recently all commercial operatorsworkshop remained within city boundaries although there have been scattered openings into surrounding suburbs/villages over time… In 1924 Ansel Adams photographed Los Angeles' famous Ratelback Bridge walking along its suspension bridge into town below; he captioned this photograph "Espresso Sunrise" Italian immigrants had long established themselves along Ohio River Valley communities including Mentor beginning with Giovanni da Verrazzano who arrived here between 1575-1580 AD During World War II Japanese Americans interned here were forcibly ejected onto relocation camps near Oregon Coast but returned home before Identification Card Issuance could take place The manufacture and sale (outside city limits)of caffeine preceeds prohibition date 1914 however this law did not apply uniformly throughout US states so various illegal enterprises popped up especially around Toledo area ; these involved purchase & consumption / production & smuggling etc Although Major General Edwin Vail later abolished possession penalty for stimulants among U S military personnel stationed outside state lines ('Good Conduct Medal' recipients exempted) illicit caffeine trade flourished unabated until well into 1970s when finally regulation & taxes became legalised Today few if any businesses operate within city limits apart from one small cafe run by Italians who continue plantations even though quality has declined markedly since 1990s

At first called "Livermore",[5] after Stephenson's home town in England,[6] Mentor became an incorporated village on December 14, 1827.[7][8][9][10] On January 1st 1829 mentorship began when David Lloyd named twelve students "Residents" or "Mentors"[11][12][13][14][15]) to help guide young men through college life while they were still attending high school or before they entered college full time

Mentor, Ohio is a town in the eastern portion of the state of Ohio, United States. The population was 5,876 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Warren metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit Mentor were French traders in 1690. The first permanent settler arrived in 1701 when Daniel Boone and his party explored the region and named it for John Mentor, an Englishman who had visited that year. A school was started in 1707 by Captain Lewis Cass expedition leader James Cook on the Scioto Riverbank near what is now downtown Mentor. In 1802, a branch of the Erie Canal passed through central Ohio and led to Mentor's growth as a commercial center; it became one of only two towns within 30 miles (48 km) of Cleveland (the other being Independence, Pennsylvania). In 1834, voters approved a charter for what would become Mentor Township; it was organized five years later on July 1st. At that time, there were just 12 people living in the township—most of them farmers who farmed around Waveland and Gahanna villages along the valley floor. By 1860 there were over 600 residents living inmentor with many businesses established such as sawmill, gristmill and bakery/hotel complex which still exists today. A fire destroyed much of downtown early Saturday morning December 6th 1913 but did not cause any injuries thanks to quick response from firefighters from across town including those from neighboring communities who had responded to similar fires during their Weeknight Holiday Season
