Artisan coffee is a centuries-old trend in Medina, Ohio. The area has been noted for its fine coffee beans and roasting techniques since the 1830s. Some of the first artisanal coffee shops in Medina were started by German immigrants in the early 1800s. In 1892, a group of Italian Americans founded the Medina Coffee Company. This company was one of the earliest to roast and sell their own coffee. The business continued to operate until 1978. The history of artisan coffee in Medina goes back even further than that. In 1811, Captain John Fetterman founded the Fetterman's Coffee House on High Street in Medina. This establishment served as a meeting place for merchants and locals alike who would discuss local politics and business opportunities. From here, they would roasted their own beans and sold them under their own name or those of other local businesses. As time passed, more people began to move into Medina from surrounding townships and villages. These newcomers brought with them their traditions of Fine Coffee Roasting and Culture which helped fuel the growth of artisanal coffee culture throughout central Ohio over the years. Many different types of artisans have contributed to this unique industry including but not limited to: brewers, tasters, bakers, distillers/originators, colorists/artists and filmmakers/documentary filmmakers
As a small business owner, coffee lover, and artisan coffee drinker myself, I have had the opportunity to try out many different types of coffees. Some of my favorites include Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, Guatemalan Antiga Blanco, and Colombian Supremo. However, one of my favorite types of coffee is artisan coffee. Artisan coffee is made from whole beans roasted in-house by the brewer or roaster. This type of coffee must be carefully chosen because it has a unique flavor that cannot be replicated by any other type of coffee. One reason why artisan coffee is so special is because it often contains more flavor than standard grocery store coffees. The taste can be traced back to the beans themselves - these are usually roasted fresh in-house with only the finest ingredients. Additionally, artisans often use rare and unusual beans for their own products which gives each cup its own unique flavors and aromas. As a result, every time I drink an artisan coffee I am sure to enjoy something new and different!

Medina, Ohio is a town in Medina County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. The name Medina comes from the Spanish word "mide" meaning "middle." The first European to visit Medina was Giovanni da Vercelli in 1536. Early settlers were farmers and hunters who traveled through the area on their way to find new land for themselves. By 1800, Medina had a permanent population of about 130 people. A post office called Medina was established in 1814 and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1821, the government of Ohio changed its form from an democracy to a presidential republic with James K. Polk as its first president. As part of this change, Medina became part of Lucas County and soon afterwards became an important coal mining community due to its rich coal seams found near the surface formations that produced quality Coal mine products such as bituminous coal and anthracite coal. In 1848, when Franklin D. Roosevelt became president, he ordered that all mines be closed because of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits being given out at that time by his predecessor Andrew Johnson which made mining difficult for many miners who could not afford to purchase replacement equipment or leave their jobs while they awaited payment of their disability benefits which would continue even if they died without having received any payments from SSDI since it amounted to death benefits plus interest payments on those monies). With no other job prospects available for these men outside farming or mining communities nearby with better paying jobs available then working as slaves picking cotton or waiting tables at restaurants during harvest season there were few options left for these men buts to end their life before getting caught up in one of America's largest social welfare programs ever created! This lead many families withinmining communities like Medina into poverty and despair leading some mothers even selling off children they still had custody over into slavery just so they could enough money NOT TO HAVE TO PAY FOR SOCIAL SECURITY AND THEIR FAMILY'S POVERTY AND DESPONDENCY! This Enabled America's first mass induced child labor campaign! Some non-Mormons also contributed financially towards this program by purchasing children taken from poor white families during the Great Migration across America looking for opportunities elsewhere than rural upstate New York where living conditions were often very poor regardless of whether someone claimed social security benefits! Due primarily to American involvement in World War II muchmedina commerce shifted away from heavy industry towards agriculture as production increased demand for food surpluses resulting in prices increasing throughout most parts of America making goods more expensive than ever before while wages stagnated or fell behind inflation rates!! However despite these negative trends over time something has slowly been emerging beginning to improve things including modest price increases on groceries starting about 2005 becoming somewhat stabilize again following Recession 2008-2011 . Despite some stability however real income growth has been low averaging 2% per year versus 3%+ nationwide average annual growth rate during this same period!!!
