In recent years, marines have been deployed as part of a number of different military operations. These deployments can take many different forms, and often result in the marine having to go on long tours of duty. Some marines find this deployment to be quite challenging, while others seem to enjoy it immensely. One such marine who has found himself deployed as part of many different military operations is Lance Corporal Damien Eaves. Damien was born in 1984 and raised in Virginia Beach, VA. When he was just 18 years old, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served his country for four years before being discharged. After his discharge from service, Damien decided to pursue a career in law enforcement. He started out working as an officer with the Richmond Police Department before moving on to become a detective with the Norfolk Police Department. In 2004, Damien was selected to serve as a prosecutor with the District Attorney’s Office for Prince George’s County, MD. After two years at this job, he moved on to become Assistant District Attorney for Northern Virginia before becoming Deputy District Attorney for Alexandria County in 2007. In 2011, Damien was named Assistant DA for Eastern Shore region before finally becoming the Chief Deputy DA for Northeastern Virginia in 2014. Today, Damien is one of the most highly respected deputies within Virginian government circles and is known throughout Fairfax County as an expert on criminal justice issues. While serving as an officer with the Marine Corps, Lance Corporal Eaves developed close relationships with many of his fellow Marines- some of whom remain friends today even after he left service over six years ago now. This experience allowed him to develop strong personal bonds with these Marines even though they may never have seen him again after leaving active duty service (although some Marines still visit him at home). Maumee is a small town in Lucas County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. Maumee is located on the Mahoning River and has a humid continental climate (Köppen climate classification "Dfa"), meaning that it experiences significant year-round moisture levels. The first permanent settler in what would become Maumee was James Wetherall in 1837. He named his land for General John Maury, who had fought in the Mexican–American War and then served as Governor of Illinois. Wetherall's heirs sold most of their holdings to Major Lorenzo Place in 1851 and then to Elisha Denny and others in 1865. Denny founded the city of Maumee on May 15, 1868, after moving from Cincinnati with his family. The city's growth began rapidly during its early years: by 1870 there were over 100 residents living in Maumee; by 1881 there were 438 residents living there; and by 1910 there were 1,898 people living there. The population peaked at 2,269 in 1930 but declined gradually until 2000 when it reached 1,691 people. In recent decades though the population has begun to grow again due to annexation of neighboring townships: since 2002 Maumee has gained two more townships (Fulton Township and Perry Township) while Wright Township became an independent town on December 17th 2009 During World War II many soldiers who had been stationed at Camp Chase near present day downtownMaumee lived within walking distance while they served As concentration camps weren't commonly used for civilians this didn’t cause any issues However Army housing was sometimes build without proper permits which caused problems
In 1812, the United States bought land from the Potawatomi Nation in what is now Maumee, Ohio. The town was named for General James Wilkinson, who had fought in the War of 1812. In 1814, Maumee became a part of the Indiana Territory and in November of that year, it was approved by Congress to be admitted as a state. On January 17, 1815, Ohio became a state and Maumee became its capital.
