The United States Air Force has a long and proud history of giving gifts to individuals and organizations. Mason, Ohio is a small town in the southern part of the United States. It is located on the banks of the Muskingum River and has a population of around 5,000 people. The town was founded in 1811 by John Mason, an American Revolutionary War general. The name Mason comes from James Mason, who had named it for himself and his brother Robert Mason. Mason was originally inhabited by Native Americans and was first settled by white men in 1811. In 1925, the town was renamed for George Washington Carver, one of America's most famous agricultural scientists. Carver spent many years working in Mason and later moved to nearby Waverly. The economy of Mason is mainly based on agriculture and manufacturing. There are a few small businesses in the town but most residents work in local farms or factories. The main industry here is transportation - both railroads and buses connect the town with other parts of Ohio and Pennsylvania.
