Marysville is a small town located in Summit County, Ohio. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbus, OH-based Middletown– Marysville, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The land that makes up today's Marysville was first settled by Europeans in the early 17th century. In 1792, John Troup and his brothers bought 8 acres (3 hectares) of land near what is now the town center from Sir William Johnson. The family name comes from Mount Mansfield in England where their father had come to reside in 1692 as part of a group of English Quaker settlers. John Troup became one of America's leading businessmen and served as president of the First National Bank and vice president of the Ohio Company. He also served on various state boards including those responsible for education and transportation. In 1814, Congressman James Kapp assigned surveyor George Rogers to map out a road between Cincinnati and Cleveland so that goods could be transported efficiently between these two cities without having to go through Marysville or Mentor Junction on the way. Kapp named this road "the Rogers Road." By 1830, when Ohio moved its capital from Philadelphia to Downtown Cleveland, Marysville had grown enough to incorporate as a separate village underwritten by Mr. Kapp with $10 per capita assessed valuation; it did not achieve full incorporation until 1836 due to lack of support from local officials). As settlers started moving into what is now Marysville during the mid 1800s they began building cabins which would become known as "creek houses" or "treehomes". A post office was established in 1827 and mail delivered twice weekly until 1862 when an additional post office opened at Uniontown opposite present day State Route 732 (now called US 231). The discovery of coal resources in nearby Chillicothe led to increased trade around here which stimulated manufacturing throughout much of central Ohio; steel production began operations here in 1865 with Abraham Lincoln Manufacturing Company being founded by Abraham Lincoln along with other businesses such as Don Mills Paper & Cotton Merchants furnace company who manufactured wire hanger cable used for lights on trains etc., just east off SR 732 today's Drury Lane Shopping Center where IHOP stands today! This area became known as Steel Valley because many companies produced steel here such As American Steel Works products continued through World War II! During prohibition period several bootlegging operations took place including Stonington Brewery which built a large brewery/distillery complex on Harriman Avenue adjacent to current day State Route 422 north side Of downtownMarysburg later becoming home to then University Beechmont School District #1 after merging with Columbiana County school district #2 c1968

Marysville was founded in 1814 by the Lewis and Clark Expedition as a trading post on the lower Ohio River. It grew rapidly, becoming a leading fur-trading center and seat of government for the Northwest Territory. In 1838, Marysville became an incorporated town and in 1865 it became the capital of the new United States of America. The city was renamed Washington in 1907 after President George Washington. Marysville is now a major suburb of Columbus, Ohio. The Lewis and Clark Expedition passed through Marysville on their way downstream from West Point to visit Mount Rushmore National Monument in October 1769. The expedition's leaders were impressed by the beauty of the area, which they named "The Meadows" because of its fertile valleys and rolling hills. The site had been settled by Native Americans since at least 10,000 years ago. In 1814, General James Wilkinson built a log cabin nearby on what is now NW corner lot 3rd Street and Main Avenue; he called it Wilkinsburg (now part of Cleveland). Wilkinson served as mayor of Marysville from 1821 to 1830 and as justice of the peace from 1830 to 1840. He also served as president pro Tem (the first half-time president) of Ohio during its first two decades under statehood. In 1830, Congress established territorial governments for Upper Canada (what is today Ontario), Oregon Territories, Nevada Territory, Arizona Territory, Hawaii Islands (including Kaua'i), American Samoa, Johnston Island off Guam Anakapouan Atoll off Molokai island ; Spanish possessions around South America; parts of Utah; parts ceded by Mexico to become Oklahoma Territory; Idaho; Wyoming Territory until it was abolished in 1912; Alaska Purchase until 1959 when it became part of Russia
The town of Marysville was founded in 1821 by the merger of two smaller settlements, Northbridge and Fishkill. The first post office in Marysville was established on November 1, 1830. In 1834, the community erected a schoolhouse which served until 1869 when a new building was constructed. The first resident physician in the community was Dr. Samuel Mears who practiced from 1835 to 1840. The town became an agricultural center with large fields devoted to corn, beans, wheat and other crops during the early 1800s. By 1860, cattle were being milked for milk and hay along with six horses used for transportation. A sawmill operated intermittently from about 1830 until 1862 when it went out of business due to economic problems associated with the Panic of 1857. In 1865, a gristmill became operational and continued in operation until 1870 when it too went out of business due to low demand for flour from farmers statewide due to the cheap labor available at that time. A foundry became operational in 1870 also but operations ceased by 1880 because there wasn’t enough demand for Stillwater Forge products statewide. In 1901-1902, a waterworks facility was built which lasted until 1959 when it stopped functioning due to corrosion issues caused by rain runoff into the main line(). Marysville experienced several growth periods throughout its history including during World War I (1915-1918), World War II (1939-1945) and thereafter as the result of various industrial expansions within Ohio County resulting in job creation and population increase across various sectors including agriculture, manufacturing and service industry jobs; however no major construction or development took place within Marysville itself during these eras leading instead to increased traffic congestion around town Coretta Scott King Airport
