And while some functions (such as Weingarten Hall) may no longer be open to Marines due to restrictions placed on how large gifts may be received by individual servicemen or women – there are plenty of other places where they can show their support! Marion, Ohio is a small city in the U.S. state of Ohio that is the county seat of Ross County. The population was 10,521 at the 2010 census, making Marion one of the most populous counties in Ohio. The city is located on the Scioto River and has a population density of . It is also one of the few cities in Ohio with a population over 100,000 people. The city was founded by pioneers in 1810 as Willoughby Station on land that was part of the Northwest Territory under British rule. In 1830, it became an incorporated town and then was renamed Marion after General James Wilkinson who fought against Native American forces during the Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1813. In 1836, it became a full-fledged city and remained so until its annexation by Cleveland in 1907. In 1927, when Cleveland annexed all but two villages within its limits (Ironton and Northfield), it divided Marion into three wards: Dearborn Heights-North Ward; Highland Heights-South Ward; and West Side-East Ward. Each ward had two City Council members who were elected at large rather than from their respective wards. This system continued until 1945 when Cleveland abolished collective voting for council members and replaced it with first past the post voting which gave more opportunity to incumbents. A referendum approved annexation by Cleveland to form what would become known as "the Great Lakes Citiesite" – which included much of downtown Cincinnati – on November 3rd, 1907 following years of planning by Mayor John Geddes and others associated with that effort including streetcar developer George Wickersham Jr., jeweler Harry Rosenwald and banker J P Morgan Jr.. On October 15th 1914 voters rejected incorporation intoCLEVELAND because they felt it would have resulted in less money being put towards education due to taxes levied on businesses within CLEVELAND's boundaries instead going towards other local priorities such as road maintenance or library expansion

The town was founded by George Rogers Clark in 1814 as a small log settlement on the Scioto River south of fortifications built by John Custer for his Indian Wars campaign against the Shawnee and other Native American nations. In 1830, Marion became one of ten townships that formed the new county of Lucas County, which was named after General David Dixon Wright's victory over Tecumseh's forces at Fallen Timbers in 1813. The first courthouse and jail were completed in 1833; both are still standing today. In 1850, when Ohio became a state, Marion became its second largest city with 8,000 residents; it had been 2nd only to Cincinnati among all those established within Lucas County during its early days as an agricultural settlements along the Scioto River valley." In 1950, when Cleveland-Akron-Canton combined into one metropolitan area known as "Cleveland-Akron-Canton", Marion merged with that city to become its third largest municipality with 27,000 residents – making it larger than both Akron and Cleveland themselves! The growth of retail and other services from downtown Akron has led to increased development around University Circle (the central business district) as well as eastside neighborhoods such as Orchard Park and Shadyside Heights since 1990s; these areas now make up much more than half of Marion's total land area."
