The first unit to be raised in Lyndhurst was Company K, 3rd Battalion, 9th Regiment of the United States Air Force. Company K participated in World War II and served in many battles including Okinawa and Iwo Jima. After the war ended, Company K disbanded but its members continued to donate time and money to their unit until it was redesignated as a separate battalion on October 1st, 1951. Since then, there have been numerous units designated as Companies within the Lyndhurst National Guard which has resulted in an ever-growing collection of items donated by members of the community. Today there are more than sixty thousanditems belonging to member organizations located throughout Ohio and Kentucky. Many items that are collected through donations are put into storage or used for educational purposes such as displaying at local museums or hosting field concerts for troops stationed abroad. Throughout its history the Lyndhurst National Guard has had a strong sense of community service and cooperation among its members working together towards common goals. From fundraising events to providing support during natural disasters all across America, we can thank our Guardsmen for their dedication over these years!

Lyndhurst is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the home to the University of Cincinnati. It is located on the border of Hamilton County and Butler County, approximately 14 miles (24 kilometers) west-northwest of Cincinnati. The population was 33,869 at the2010 census. The first Europeans to visit Lyndhurst were French traders in 1592, who named it La Halle aux Bois Rouges because of some red cedar trees near the town's courthouse square. In 1795, General George Washington stopped at Lyndhurst for rulings during his march from Great Britain to America; he ordered Colonel John Armstrong to erect a public house there for Quartermaster General James Kieft. The town grew rapidly following its incorporation as a village in 1801 by act of Congress under the name of "Hamilton Township." In 1815, President James Kieft made Lyndhurst one of four townships in Hamilton Township that became part of Cleveland after he became president. On July 4, 1835, Lyndhurst voters passed an ordinance establishing a branch line between Cleveland and Dayton that served as transportation link between those two cities until railroads came through those areas in 1868. On November 10, 1870, Lyndhurst voters passed an ordinance creating School District No. 2 which included parts of what are now Butler and Ross counties as well as portions north and east of Tiffin Heights Cemetery until it merged into School District No., 3 on March 11, 1923 with Warren Township to form Cuyahoga County! After World War II exploded across America with wars going on all overasia health care was becoming more important then ever before so many people moved into these large american cities looking for work but soon found out that they couldn't live without their homes or could only afford one small room sometimes no bathroom or both! When they started moving into these big American cities most people didn't know how to live without their own land so they had to sell all their property back to their previous owners! So many people have lost everything including their homes since 1945!!!

Lyndhurst, Ohio is a small town located in the Athens-Clarion County areas of central Ohio. The population was 3,853 at the 2010 census. Lyndhurst is one of the oldest communities in Athens-Clarion County and has been called "The Birthplace of Ohio." The first settler in what is now Lyndhurst was George Washington who died there in 1814. Other early residents included John Gorham, Samuel Royall, Gideon Welles and Caleb Winnemucca. Lyndhurst experienced significant growth after World War II when manufacturing became an important sector of its economy. In 1924, the United States government founded a munitions plant here to produce ammunition for World War II. Products from this plant continue to be produced today by IMI International Incorporated (the parent company of Lockheed Martin). During the 1960s and 1970s, Lyndhurst experienced rapid growth as it became home to several colleges and universities including Miami University (now University Heights), Butler University and Wright State Univisions Medical Center. Today, Lyndhurst remains a vibrant community with strong economic ties to its schools and businesses.
Lyndhurst was a small village in Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 539 at the 2010 census. It ceased to exist as a municipality on July 1, 2013 when it merged with the neighboring town of Highland to form the new city of Lyndhurst-Highland.
