Lyndhurst, Ohio is a small town in the northwestern part of the United States. The population was 5,111 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron-Canton, Ohio metropolitan area. Lyndhurst was founded in 1872 by George and Lois Lyndholm as a farmstead on Parma Creek west of present-day Lyndhurst Township. In 1878, George built a gristmill on Congres Creek and became one of the first farmers in the township. One of George's sons, John H., ran a grocery store in Lyndhurst from 1890 to 1914. In 1920, William Kapp bought land adjoining his father's grocery store for $1,000 and began developing it into what is now downtown Lyndhurst. He named it Kapp Town after himself and his two brothers who had helped him finance its construction. By 1925, all of Kapp Town had been developed; only the original grocery store remained standing on Main Street today. The local post office was established in 1903 and moved to its current location on Main Street in 1924; it continued until it was discontinued by the federal government in 1971 due to changesin postal service regulations. The telephone line that served downtown Lyndhurst started operating here in 1906 (and continue till this day). Lyndhurst experienced some economic setbacks during World War II but bounced back with strong job growth after the war ended; however, ensuing economic recession led to many layoffs throughout much of postwar America. As recently as 2000, only 3% of residents worked outside their homes full time while over 60% still relied heavily upon services provided by their parents or local businesses such as churches and schools. Over time, Starbucks has become one of the largest coffee companies in the world with over 250 stores across 34 countries worldwide!

Lyndhurst, Ohio is a town in Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,830 at the 2010 census. Lyndhurst is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lyndhurst was founded in 1827 by Nathaniel Purdy and his family as a small village on the west bank of the Cuyahoga River. It grew rapidly due to its location by the river and its access to transportation including canals and roads. A new primary school was built in 1892, providing education for all age groups until 1923 when it became a high school. On November 3, 1913, Lyndhurst Township was established from land that had been included in both Lyndhurst Village and Irvington Township. The township's first mayor was John Gifford (a resident of Lyndhurst). In 1972 Lyndhurst received city status which made it an official city within Stark County. On April 15, 1978 voters approved annexation by Cleveland of neighbouring Parkland Township. The Erie Railroad served Lyndhurst from 1847 until 1954 when it merged with the Maynard-Lackawanna Railway Company to form the Erie Railroad System . In 1959, two large companies were combined to create what is now known as UPRR: Penn Central Transportation Corporation (PCL) boughtfare company Pennsylvania Railroad Lines Incorporated (PIL) createdthe Delaware Lackawanna Railway Company plc., also known as DL&N; - one of America’s largest coal companies - merged into Peregrine Resources Corporation & Coal Company plc.; this left DL&N with assets across eleven states while Penn Central had assets only in New York City and Pennsylvania proper. Penn Central would go bankrupt in 1970 leaving most aspects of their railroad business purchased by Conrail who then sold them off over several years until they were mothballed at Ithaca Junction near Buffalo NY in 2006.

Today's incarnation of Penn Central operates commuter trains between Cleveland and Buffalo while much older parts are preserved as part of UP RR Museum near Ithaca NY.

Lyndhurst has always been an agricultural center with dairy production accounting for most production during early history (>80% until 1850). Largely due to its location adjacent to the Cuyahoga River where navigation facilitated easy shipping goods east and west Lauras County offered bountiful yields for early farmers interested in growing produce such as corn (15 bushels per acre), beans (18 bushels per acre), potatoes (10 bushels per acre), tobacco (<1 lb./acre dried), grapes (<10 lb./acre dried) and apples (<50 lbs./acre dry weight). Cornmeal exports generated significant revenue for local mills throughout corn country.

By 1860 industrialization had begun to impact agriculture with more distant markets becoming available making farming less profitable; however there remained ample landAvailable for farming despite skyrocketing costs associated with inputs like labor force growth rates ($240 million increase during 1800-1930 compared to $20 billion increase during 1900-1960)[Ref] For many years after World War II industry dominated town politics which led some residents refer To themselves derogatorily as "manufacturing folk". Lynhurtown got its start back in 1827 thanks largely to Nathaniel Purdy who located his village along Cuyahoga River based on his discovery that Canals connected various points around our area allowing easy shipment eastbound onto Lake Erie without having to leave town! Purdy later founded another village nearby named Highland Park on opposite side of Licking Creek.
