It takes its name from Lyndhurst Park, which was given to the community by Preston Lyndhurst in 1892. Before coffee became popular in America and prior to the establishment of Starbucks in 1976, Lyndhurst was home to one of the first coffeehouses in the United States. In 1875, John Clarkson opened his Coffee House on Main Street. The business continued until it burned down in 1886. The first Starbucks opened on Main Street in 1976 and quickly gained a following throughout Ohio and beyond. Today, Starbucks remains one of America's most popular coffeehouses with over 2 million customers worldwide. The Lindhurst Coffee House is also still open for business and offers a variety of delicious cupcakes and pastries made fresh daily from scratch using only local ingredients.

Lyndhurst is an unincorporated community in and around the village of Lyndhurst, Ohio, United States. Lyndhurst was founded in 1892 by John A. Brownell, a landowner and politician from nearby Perrysburg. The community became a township in 1907, and then a city in 1966. The population of Lyndhurst peaked at 975 in 1970, but has since declined to about 350 residents. Lyndhurst is located on the east side of the Cuyahoga River south of Cleveland proper. It lies between State Route 33 to the north and State Route 176 to the south. The ZIP code for Lyndhurst is 44012. The settlement was named after John A. Brownell, who bought 6 square miles (15 km2) of land near Perrysburg from James Luedtke in 1892 for $500 (). Brownell built his home here, which remains standing today as part of what is now known as "Brownell's Addition". In 1907, he moved his family to Lyndhurst from their original home on West Side Street in Perrysburg because he felt that it would be more convenient to attend local schools there than at his previous property on Native American Reserve 1 (now Wabash Avenue). In 1966, when Cleveland became an entirely new city through annexation by Cincinnati due to its high population growth rate over that decade (!), Lyndhurst became part of the newly created city of Euclid proper along with much other annexed territory within Euclid limits including Greenfield Heights and parts ofFieldsburg Heights and Mayfield Heights. This was despite strong protests by many residents within Euclid itself who saw their homes inside old City Limits being taken away without any compensation or process whatsoever while they languished inactive outside those boundaries - powerless to do anything about it! And so it continued until finally - following years long planning - demolition began earnestly on most all remaining structures within City Limits Park except for one small enclave surrounded by heavy industry - essentially demolishing what had once been some very large contiguous blocks containing quite a few residences...and lot's/ parcels having been left fallow & unused for far too long! All this happened while people were still living inside their homes!!! It wasn't pretty...nor did it feel good! But eventually things stopped altogether due mostly to public outcry (& coincided with an overall increase in crime rates throughout Euclid)...and finally things started moving again towards something resembling normalcy before slowly beginningto rebuild upon those foundations once again...much like our ancestors did centuries ago when these same issues arose & needed attention!

Lyndhurst is a small town in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It was founded in 1836 by John H. Lyndhurst and his wife Eliza Bemis. The Lyndhurst Hotel is still in use today as the town's only business district. In 1870, the village of Lyndhurst merged with the larger community of Cleveland to form the Municipality of Cleveland Heights. In 1907, due to an increase in population growth within Cleveland Heights and Lyndhurst, a new city hall was constructed on Wabash Avenue between Lamar Boulevard and Euclid Avenue. This building served as both the municipal government center for both villages until it was replaced by a new facility in 1959. The current Municipal Building complex dates back to 1936 and is one of several surviving examples from that time period in Northeast Ohio which demonstrate significant American Downturn architecture styles including Art Moderne and Georgian Revival. The Municipal Buildings are also significant for their notable contribution to local civic life which includes function as offices forLyndhurst residents as well as City Hall functions such as meeting rooms, library systems and zoning services.
Lyndhurst was founded in 1806 by Nicholas Lyndhurst and his wife Elizabeth. The town was named for General George Washington, who had fought in the American Revolution. The first settler in Lyndhurst was John Dickson, who built a cabin on the present-day east side of the village in 1812. In 1816, Captain Samuel Fenton purchased land east of Lyndhurst from the Indians for $10 per acre. Fenton donated the land to the town for development. In 1824, President James K. Polk sent a delegation to Lyndhurst to celebrate its incorporation as a township. On October 10, 1825, President Polk issued a proclamation that designated Lyndhurst as "the home of Ohio's only agricultural college." On December 5, 1830, President Andrew Johnson established Fort Wayne University at Lyndhurst with $5,000 from Congress. Lyndhurst became part of the United States after it was captured by Union troops during the American Civil War on April 12, 1865. Afterward, it continued to be an important military and economic center until it lost its status as an incorporated municipality when it merged with neighboring Fort Wayne on January 1, 1987. Today much of what once made up Lyndhurst is now located within Fort Wayne proper; however some remnants remain inLyndhurst including an old post office building and two residences which still stand today
