Lebanon, Ohio is a small town in the northeastern corner of Ohio. As of the 2010 census, its population was 3,832. It's located about 20 miles northeast of Columbus and about 25 miles southwest of Cincinnati. The village is named after Lebanon, Pennsylvania which was founded in 1792 by Presbyterian missionaries. The first settlers in what is now Lebanon were farmers and their families who arrived around 1812. By 1833, there were also several businesses and a few heavy industry concerns clustered around the courthouse square. However, it was not until 1850 that an agricultural community began to form with coffee and other crops being grown along with some cattle breeding and tanning operations. In 1907, when the United States acquired control over Iraq under President James K. Polk, Lebanon became one of the first American towns to be designated as part of Baghdad County on maps published by the secretary of state. At that time it had a population of just 5 people! In 1916-1918 during World War I (the war for independence), many Lebanese men enlisted in various branches of service throughout America due to patriotic feeling following WWI Germany’s annexation into Austria-Hungary; however only 1% were ever returned home after Armistice ended though many became decorated soldiers like Major General Saadallah Sadat al-Din who later served as president from 1999 – 2005 In 1920–1921 construction began on Stonington Township High School (now Lebanon Central High School). This new school cost $2 million dollars to build on land donated by local property owner Mrs. Henrietta Sallis (daughter of Augustus Sallis). Construction took two years to complete and opened September 24th 1921; at that time it was one of only 2 high schools in Middle Tennessee Johann Strauss Park had 9 high schools while here only 6 students attended grades 7 through 12 . Today Lebanon Central High School continues as one(!)of “America’s”100 “Most Famous Public Schools” having been featured in publications such Newsweek magazine twice (#41 & #46) as well as Time Magazine (pages 24/25/29) numerous times since its opening including once being honored with an award from USA Today!

Lebanon, Ohio is a small town in the heart of the United States. It was founded in 1824 by refugees from the French and Indian War. The town quickly became known for its agriculture and timber production. In 1933, Lebanon merged with nearby Palestine to form Palestine Township. Lebanon has since experienced an increase in tourism, especially during recent years due to its rich history and beautiful architecture.
Lebanon, Ohio was named after the ancient city in Lebanon, Syria. In 1803, the United States acquired land at what is now Lebanon for $2 million. The government of Ohio purchased this land from the United States in 1825. The village of Lebanon was established on this new land and quickly became a small agricultural community with a few homes and a store. Businesses grew and residents started to build their own homes. By 1830, there were six families living in Lebanon and one family had built a gristmill. By 1840, there were twenty-eight families living in Lebanon and two families had built churches.businesses continued to grow but again population growth slowed as inexpensive European labor caused production to drop by 50%. In 1850, only thirteen families lived in Lebanon while six churches were active; businesses had stopped growing completely by 1870 when cheap imported labor replaced American workers
