The United States Army was present in Lebanon, Ohio during World War II. Despite these difficulties and many more that were faced throughout 1945-1946,,the American Soldiers arrived with a good attitude and prepared themselves for an often hostile environment They quickly assimilated into their hosts' cultures but also faced a number of challenges unique to their new home: such as communicating with Arabic speaking locals (who still spoke French), dealing with sectarian violence (frequent bombings against major civilian targets made life very difficult), coping with rationing which caused increased sickness rates among troops (which added insult to injury given how tired most men were after months on foot patrol?), developing relationships with local family members (whose loyalty was key given Hezbollah's efforts at control over much of southern Lebanon), managing expectations created by wartime media coverage (eager Iraqis wanted contact with "the enemy" - Americans) Despite initial concerns about language skills being inadequate for dealings with Arabs who spoke Quranic verses rather than English, soldiers soon became proficient in both languages . Additionally,. many soldiers found comfort within Christian communities where they shared meals and prayed together even though tensions between Muslims and Christians existed .. despite all these difficulties ,American Soldiers worked hard day & night 7 days a week long term effort through out 1946 - 1948

Lebanon, Ohio is a small town located in the state of Ohio. The population was 5,431 as of the 2010 census. The community is named after Lebanese immigrants who settled in what is now Lebanon Township in 1824. since then it has been home to many people from Lebanon, Lebanon County, and surrounding municipalities. In 1830 Lebanese immigrants Frantz Lamar and his family set out for America on horseback through the snowdrifts that winter. They arrived at Point Pleasant in Medina County on December 26th 1830. The following year they founded the village of Beirut which became a part of Athens Township when Athens Township was organized in 1837. In 1842 an act was passed by the General Assembly creating Richmond Township which included all of present-day Lebanon Township as well as parts of Medina and Oxford Counties east of Canal Street (the portion now known as Westlake Village). On March 17th 1852 President James K. Polk issued Executive Order 9802 giving everyone living within 3 miles of Columbus "a right to vote at any election held under this Constitution." Voting began on April 15th with township elections taking place on May 4th. On November 2nd, 1852, Lebanon's first school opened with 50 students enrolled from 6 different schools in Athens School District #2A Incorporated on October 8th 1850 located near Bedford Road and High Street Extension northwest corner Commercial Avenue between Second Avenue North and Third Avenue North
