It is located in Muskegon County and is part of the Lansing Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Village of Kent grew rapidly during the early 1800s due to its location on navigable waterways and its access to raw materials for manufacturing. Kent, Ohio is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Logan County. The population was 11,873 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland–Akron–Muncy, OH metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Kent was Nicholas Kent who arrived with his family from England in 1788. He erected a log cabin on what is now State Route 519 about three miles north of today's town square.
