Navy gift history in Hudson, Ohio began with a sailing ship called the USS Constitution. The Constitution was built in 1795 and served as the flagship of the United States Navy from 1799-1823. After she was decommissioned, she was donated to the Hudson River Museum in 1921 and is now on display at the museum. Other notable ships that were given to the Hudson River Museum include USS Monitor (1862), USS Pequod (1912), USS Constellation (1937) and USS Yorktown (1945). The first Navy gift from America took place when HMS Guerriere came over for a visit in 1795. This ship was sent by Great Britain as an ornament to celebrate America’s victory over Spain during the War of Independence. A total of five other ships were gifted to America after this event including HMS Cerberus, HMS Euphorbius, HMS Foudroyal, HMS Argyll and HMS Resolution. In 1921, the Hudson River Museum received aUSS Constitution from her previous owner, Mr. John Lavalier. The Constitution had been decommissioned since 1917 and had sat at anchor near Kingston, Ontario until it was donated to them by Mr. Lavalier. She originally cost $5 million dollars but she has since been valued at $100 million dollars. Since her donation, she has undergone several renovations which have added new displays and artifacts related to navy gifts from America throughout its history including uniforms worn by sailors during World Wars I-II as well as battles fought off shore during the Vietnam War era!

In 1907, the Hudson was sold to J.P. Morgan and his son JP Morgan Jr. In 1916, the Hudson was donated to the Ohio State University for use as a research vessel. The ship stayed at OSU until 1970 when it was acquired by the Cleveland Museum of Art and placed in storage until 1993 when it was made available for donation to Hudson County, Ohio Public Library System.

After the war ended, however, housing prices began rising and many people left for more affordable locations such as Cleveland or Cincinnati. Today, much of downtown Hudson remains largely unchanged from when it first emerged as a major center during early 20th century America

The town of Hudson, Ohio was founded in 1792 by the brothers Nathan and David Hudson. The Hudsons were early settlers in what is now Ohio. They named their new settlement after their uncle, John Hudson, who had settled in the area a few years earlier. Hudson quickly became a prosperous town, thanks to its strategic location on the Great Lakes and its trade with Canada. By 1800, the population of Hudson had reached 1,500 people. In 1806, following the Louisiana Purchase, the United States acquired all of Canada west of Quebec City. This included all of present-day Ontario and most of Manitoba as well. As a result, Hudson became part of America's newly formed Northwest Territory. In 1808, David Hudson died suddenly while serving in Congress during the War of1812. Nathan took over as mayor and led his town through difficult times during that time period. In 1825 Nathan passed away at age 90 years old; he is considered one of Ohio's longest living mayors ever. Nathan's son-in-law George Stephenson served as mayor from 1830 to 1840 and again from 1850 to 1860; both men are also generally considered among Ohio's most influential political figures during that time period. During World War II (1939-1945), Hudson was heavily bombed by Nazi Germany; however, no civilian casualties resulted from this raid (the only such attack against an American city). The town recovered quickly and resumed its normalcy shortly afterwards; however, it experienced another bombing raid in 1951 which destroyed much of downtown including many businesses and homes). A branch line was built between Cleveland and Columbus in 1851; this helped bring more people into Hudson each day for work or commerce purposes. Additionally, community meetings were held throughout the township to discuss important issues facing thetownspeople - this gave rise to some form of self-government within Hudson Township even though it never exercised that power until later when it united with fellow townships in 1959 under one common government umbrella known as "Ohio Valley Township". After several failed attempts at incorporation throughout the mid-19th century due to lack support from other communities located nearby - including Cincinnati - an act was finally ratified by voters on November 3rd 1911 creating "Hudson Township", effective October 1st 1912 despite objections from neighboring townships about having a larger share in governance within their own boundaries (this action effectively unified them under one name). It should be noted that there have been numerous boundary changes throughout history given various factors including changing demographics within communities along with growth pressures within surrounding municipalities) . Today: The township has a population OF OVER 12K residents & covers over 227 acres! Its current Mayor is Dan Lutz – who has served since MAY 2018!
