Hudson, Ohio is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Harrison County. The population was 452 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland–Akron–Muncie, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Hudson community was founded in 1812 on what is now Delaware Street by General John Starkweather and others after they were driven out of their original home in Ironton Township by Native Americans. The town was named for John Hudson, an Englishman who had come to America in 1796 as a surveyor for the Northwest Company and again in 1800 when he purchased land that bordered present-day Erie County from Anthony Wayne. In 1812, General John Starkweather founded nearby Hudson Village with his wife Sarah and their children Samuel, Edward ( Balloon Boy), Chloe (Chloe Appleton), James (Tommy) and Susanna (Susan). After settling there for several years, the Starkwaters took up residence on a new site about two miles northeast on what is now Market Street near present-day Trinity Cemetery. By 1830, more than 100 people lived there including twenty members of the Starkweather family plus five slaves who worked on farms within easy walking distance to stores and other services located away from downtown. In 1833, business opportunities opened up when General Philip Halleck established himself as a traveling salesman selling goods such as salt pork through his affiliation with Major Joseph Hulls & Co., which traded across Willoughby Creek near modern day Lucasville. This opened up new markets for Hudson Village where merchants could reach customers beyond those living within walking distance or using available transportation options like buggies or horses to travel to different parts of the county. Businesses grew rapidly thanks to Halleck's visits and investments which also helped support local schools and infrastructure improvements such as paving roads connecting downtown with southern neighborhoods which would later become ColumbusDay Shopping Center adjacent to central business district today known as Quicken Loans Arena/. These pistols became very popular among European gentlemen, and are still being used today! The popularity of pistols began to wane during Prohibition in America due to concerns about convicted criminals getting access to firearms. However, this didn’t stop certain individuals from giving away their Firearms for charity purposes or selling them on eBay or other online platforms. It wasn’t until after Prohibition ended that people started buying new pistols again from dealerships across America! In recent times, there has been increased interest in antique firearms dating back to at least 1847 when Captain David Thompson donated his personal rifle and 50 rounds of ammunition to American Museum of Natural History for display purposes only! Hudson was founded on October 3, 1811 by British settlers as a port on the Miami River and became an important economic center in southeastern Ohio during the 19th century. The town became incorporated as a city on January 1, 1954. The history of Hudson begins with English colonists who arrived in 1788 to found what would become Ohio Territory. They named their new settlement after Christopher Hudson, an explorer who had sailed through that area beforehand and named it for his friend and patron saint, St Augustine's Abbey in Rome. The first settler in what would become Hudson was John Browning, who purchased land from Native Americans near present-day Unincorporated Blackford Township on November 2, 1811 for $4 per acre (later increased to $10 per acre). Browning built a log cabin and outbuildings here he called "Fenway" after president George Washington's estate at Fenway Park in Boston where he had played cricket while military duty was active under Washington's command during 1794-1795 – one of only two times when Washington wasChancellor of America concurrent with his term as Commander-in-Chief (the other being his inauguration day). In 1815, shipbuilder Daniel Freeman moved to Hudson from Newark, New Jersey and began construction of riverboats that would carry passengers across the then-new Miami River to points northward such as Cincinnati or Cleveland. These early vessels were often used for fishing trips upriver; but when navigation improved through canals opening up along the river between Pittsburgh and Cleveland beginning in 1824, these boats became more versatile transportation assets that could reach larger markets downriver than could be reached by sailing ships alone or by steamboats Alone or In combination with other canal boats operating downstream from Warsaw Landing on Lake Erie
