The Coast Guard is a branch of the United States Armed Forces that helps protect coastline and maritime interests. The Coast Guard's origins date back to 1790 when the first lighthouse was built in what is now Portsmouth, New Hampshire. In 1915, the Coast Guard was divided into two service branches: the National Defense Reserve Force (NDRF) and the Naval Militia. The NDRF was created as a result of World War I when America entered into an agreement with Great Britain to create a reserve force for military purposes. On October 15, 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 which established the United States Coast Guard Service as an independent branch of the government. Since its inception, the Coast Guard has played an important role in both our country's stability and its welcoming global community. The Coast Guards mission is to provide safe and efficient coastalonal waterway operations while promoting maritime security and trade through law enforcement, education, public awareness and humanitarian aid.

Hamilton, Ohio is an American city in the central part of the state of Ohio, on the Scioto River. The population was 74,815 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland metropolitan area and is considered to be one of the most economically prosperous cities in America. Hamilton has been named a "City of Opportunity" by Forbes magazine and was ranked #1 on Forbes' list of Best Places to Live in 2020. In addition, it has been named a "Best Place to Work" by The Economist and an "Affordable City" by WalletHub. The land that now makes up Hamilton was first settled in 1792 by George Washington's forces during his campaign for president. After he was elected, he ordered Major General Christopher Gist to explore what lay beyond Cincinnati so that new settlers could be selected for lands east of the river. Gist returned with news that there were large tracts of land available along both banks of the Scioto River and he assigned Zachariah Baldwin, a Revolutionary War veteran from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to lead an expedition to purchase these tracts from Native Americans. The city began as a small community known as Beaver Dam Station on February 11, 1800 when two pioneers - Timothy Perry and James Kapp - set off from Cincinnati on horseback downriver towards present day Hamilton after hearing about rectangular lots offered for sale near downtown. They reached Beaver Dam Landing just below where Dayton now stands less than one week later on February 15th – making it one of America’s earliest towns. A tavern called The Lion’s Den became known as “the town square” due to its location close to all manner of public activities including courtrooms and churches which frequently hosted sermons or public meetings. Hamilton quickly grew into one of the most important nodes in Northwest Ohio because it had access to both transportation arteries- Route 66 and Broadway- giving it easy access into Greater Cincinnati via Interstate 75 or Interstate 71 (today's US routes 190/191). Additionally、it housed many businesses like Wabash Paper Company (later acquired by Procter & Gamble), PNC Financial Services Center (later Bank One), Home Depot then Sears before becoming Macy’s Department Store when general manager Isaac Haas purchased half ownership from Jethro Gibbs back in 1902; while also hosting numerous smaller stores over time such as Buttonwillow Hardware store then Goodyear Tire & Rubber company until closing c1957; local professional playerbuilder John Ladd played his final game at Municipal Stadium against Detroit Tigers on July 14th 1927; Ansaldo Corporation made their début here when they founded their corporate headquarters located at 5703 Main Street in 1961; United States Steel Corporation established their steel plants here starting operations in 1901 before moving them downstream across Fifth Avenue dually using blast furnaces located adjacent today at HDFC Bank Tower (partially destroyed during economic recession) within current day Martin Luther King Jr., Jr.'s original IKEA mall boundaries prior TO vacating former industrial site during redevelopment project approved by City Council on December 12th 2009 resulting in $160 million investment including 3 new high tech office buildings totaling 200,000 sq ft+ containing world class glassware facilities plus surrounding parkland comprising 8 hectares+ . Innovation continues today with downtown core comprised entirely OFR Architects + Partners LLP concentration zone consisting exclusively OFR Architects + Partners Architecture design studios (+ mixer hall) housing more than 100 architects representing over 50 countries combined who work within some 30 disciplines associated with architecture, engineering,riptitecture + landscape architecture creating over 4500 sq ft roof top floor designs/awards since 2006
The Coast Guard has been providing safety and support to the United States since 1881. In 1916, the Coast Guard became a separate branch of the U.S. military with the creation of the Marine Corps. The Coast Guard has grown over time and now employs over 21,000 people across 42 states and five Puerto Rico. The Coast Guard’s mission is to protect American coasts and waters by rescuing sailors, fishing vessels, commercial shipping, and other types of maritime activity when it occurs; preventing collisions between vessels; providing search and rescue services; protecting against piracy; providing law enforcement assistance; and reducing littering on our coastlines. In 1933, Congress authorized the purchase of two oceanographic ships to be used as coastal guard vessels. These were known as USCGC Aiken (AG1) and USCGC Dixon (CG5). The first vessel was commissioned in 1935 as CG3 USS America (AO-1). The second ship was commissioned in 1938 as USCGC Bayonne (BG2). both boats served until 1945 when they were decommissioned due to World War II service. CG4 USS Pascagoula (LPD-10) was reactivated in 1951 under command of Commander JF Crocker from Goodspeed Harbor NM until she decommissioned in 1982 after serving for 36 years total withCG4 being redesignated CG3/CGO4 on 1 July 1987 On 15 November 1988 President George H W Bush signed into law Public Law 100-611 which reauthorized for an additional five years all prior funding for Coastal Guardsmen program including funds available through Maritime Administration Act 1959 On 9 December 1990 President George H W Bush designated USCG Point Reyes Lighthouse HMAS Napa County CA site for permanent remains transfer from USS Pascagoula . On 6 February 1992 Rear Admiral John M Kapp Jr assumed command of USCGC Point Reyes Lighthouse units at NAS Monterey California while Commodore Shriver served concurrently as commanding officer USCG Monterey CA Both Commodore Shriver & Rear Admiral John M Kapp Jr have left active duty status effective 10 Apr 2019
