In 1951, the Grove City and Delaware County branches merged into one entity and continued to use their separate callsigns until 1978 when all Coast Guard stations were consolidated into Delaware County USCG Station #2 in Dover Township. The present-day Coast Guard Station in Grove City is dedicated to protecting America’s maritime interests and providing local law enforcement service for the community. Since its establishment, the Station has rescued over 50 people from shipswrecks and other dangerous situations. Additionally, during various floods this Station responded quickly and efficiently by providing water conditioning equipment to businesses and homes within a kilometer of our location.

Grove City has been home to several notable institutions of higher learning including Grove University (the first university west of the Allegheny Mountains), Cleveland State University and Case Western Reserve University. In 2002, Grove City awarded its first "Great Place to Work" Award to its downtown area for being one of the most productive workplaces in America. The grove city Common Council voted 6-1 on July 17, 2009 to annex part of neighboring Warren Township so that it would be included within the boundaries of Grove City proper as well as providing benefits such as lower property taxes and access to Clarendon Park which are located withinWarren Township but are not subject to city ordinances or zoning regulations
