Green, Ohio is a small town in the heart of the United States in the state of Ohio. The population was 3,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Middletown, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first white American settlers in Green were Ichabod and his family who arrived from Holland in 1795. They land grant was patented to them by George Washington on July 6, 1796. The family owned eighty acres (36 hectares) of land which they farmed until 1824 when they sold it to John Fenton for $3 per acre ($640 total). In 1827, Green's post office became operational and named after Timothy Pickering who served as Postmaster General during President James K. Polk's first term as president. Green was incorporated as a village in 1837 and later became a city on November 2, 1907 with a population of 26,887 residents (at its peak). On December 15, 1916 Green becomes an international airport serving both Dayton-Middletown and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport with three runways: 14/32、17/35、21/29. In 1965 it merged with Cincinnati Municipal Airport to form one large airport that still serves today as Dayton-Middletown International Airport
