The company began as a small mom and pop operation with two employees. Today, the team of over 10 people provides delicious coffee to local businesses and individuals in the Gahanna area. They continue their commitment to providing good customer service while working to promote healthy lifestyles through education and community involvement. Their goal is to provide quality coffee at an affordable price while promoting healthy lifestyles through their outreach programs. In 1978, Tactical Coffee was founded by husband-and-wife team John & Pam Putnam with one location in Cincinnati, Ohio. The couple opened their first shop in a small shopping center on the edge of town, specializing in single Serve Brewing Coffeepods (SSB). During its early years, the company only brewed espresso for themselves and soldIDs (identity cards) that allowed customers access to limited edition beans from different roasts and grinds. As word spread about the amazing cup of Joe they were making, friends started coming into the shop more often than not seeking out specialty coffees or SSBs just for themselves! In addition to growing their business by leaps and bounds during this time –John also became known for his trademark “Jumping Jack” Mug which still graces many a café today! This success earned them both awards from national publications such as America’s Best Coffee Awards (2004), National Barista Association award (2006), prestigious Stroud Award from The American Coffee Association (2009), gold medal at World Cup of Caffeine(2011), silver medal at European Roast championship(2012). In 2013 John passed away after spending many years working hard at Tactical Coffee alongside his wife Pam; he will be deeply missed but never forgotten! And now it’s Pam’s turn to lead the charge with her innovative new concepts like The Big Bad Wolf which offers unique blends made specifically for big cities such as Chicago or Boston!

Gahanna is located on the Great Lake Erie Plain, about south of Cleveland and north of Cincinnati. The first Europeans to visit Gahanna were French traders in the late 17th century. In 1803, General Anthony Wayne founded Gahanna as a trading post on the west side of Great Lakes Native American Reserve near present-day Uniontown. In 1806, John Cincinnatus Fairchild laid out what is now downtown Gahanna on land that he had claimed from the Delaware Nation when they ceded their lands east ofCVILington to Great Britain following their Battle of Fallen Timbers. The city's original name was "Johnstown", but it changed to "Gahannam" after an early settler named George Gahan donated land for a townsite in 1827. In 1850, Stephen Aiken donated 500 acres (2 km²) northeast of present-day downtown Gahanna to establish what became known as Aiken Township; this township eventually became part of Holmes County. On July 6, 1868, Gahan Township was renamed "Gahanna" after its founder and namesakeGeorge Gahan; similar changes took place in other nearby townships during that decade.
