In 1948, the Forest Park Coffee Company merged with the National Coffee Corporation to form National Coffee Associates. This company served as a subsidiary of Nestle AG until 1997 when it became its own independent company. In 2000, National Coffee Associates merged again with Stelco Incorporated to form Nestlé USA Inc.
Forest Park is a town in Muskingum County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,898 at the 2010 census. The community of Forest Park was founded in 1881. It is part of the Akron, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name comes from the forest that once thrived there and still does on the lower east side of town. The first settler in Forest Park was Abram Zeus who came to live there in 1851. That same year saw the founding of what would become one ofAkron's most important businesses - Green & White Dry Goods Emporium which became a world-renowned retailer. In 1907, when Cleveland purchased land east of city limits for an expressway system, they selected Forest Park as one of the towns along it - and began to build roads and other infrastructure there. Today much of that infrastructure remains: A major thoroughfare called Third Street leads through town from I-271 north to Holmes Road south; Euclid Avenue runs north/south through town; State Route 422 (the old route between Akron and Ashtabula) passes near the edge of town on its way to Mentor; and several other streets run past or near schools and churches within easy reach. One result has been that Forest Park has retained much its smalltown character despite growing up around larger urban areas – something few places can boast In fact, according to 2010 USA Today rankings, Forest Park ranks No. 54 out of 227 communities nationwide in terms of job growth – well behind some more bustling metros but ahead than many rural hamlets such as Lancaster or Defiance Township (both located northeast). Forest Park was first settled in 1785 by General James Wilkinson and his family. The land that now makes up Forest Park was purchased from the Wyandot Indians in 1807. In 1903, Forest Park became a city and was renamed Cleveland after its founder, Cleveland Mayor George B. Payne. In 1792, the first of what would eventually be seven forest parks was established in Forest Park. The land for the park was donated by Colonel John Dickman and his wife Hannah. The colonel had purchased a tract of land in the area from the Delaware River east of downtown Cincinnati. In 1815, Dickman donated an additional 1,000 acres to the park, making it one of the largest forest parks in Ohio. The first public use of the park was a picnic ground onicken Island located in present day Strawberry Fields Park. In 1837, a botanical garden and observatory were added to the park. The first buildings for the park were constructed on Capitol Hill between Prospect and Vine Streets. These included a visitor center, library and gardens which flourished until 1840 when construction began on what is now The Ohio State University campus. With additions such as these, Forest Park became one of Ohio's most popular tourist destinations during its early years. In 1865, due to increased population growth in central Ohio and concerns about deforestation withinOhio's forests (due to rapidly growing Methodist churches), state lawmakers passed House Bill No. 710 which created new restrictions on tree-cutting within state forests including prohibition on felling more than fifty trees per acre orchards or splitting any large trees into two or more pieces without special permission from state officials; however this measure did not apply to Forest Park specifically From 1865 through 1893, Forest Park saw rapid growth with nearly 2 million visitors annually Forest Park officially opened tothe public on October 25th 1893 by Governor Frank Aiken after being dedicated by Mayor Charles Evans . Most importantly though was that this marks the beginning of what would become an annual holiday season at Forest Park – Christmas!
