Gourmet Coffee History in Forest Park, Ohio It is no secret that Forest Park, Ohio is home to some of the most acclaimed coffeehouses in the United States. These coffeehouses have been responsible for helping to define the modern café experience and they continue to play an important role in the cultural life of our city today. The first Gourmet Coffee House was founded in 1933 by Harry Brown and his wife Fannie. The couple opened their first shop on Broadway near Lexington Avenue and soon became known for their exquisite espresso drinks and fresh-ground coffees. In 1937, Gourmet Coffee House moved its operations to a new building at 151st Street and Elmwood Avenue, which remain its current location. Over time, Gourmet Coffee Houses became increasingly popular as a place where people could come together to socialize or simply enjoy a good cup of coffee. In 1951, Harry Brown passed away after spending many years running the business. However, Harry's son Roy took over the management of Gourmet Coffee Houses until his death in 1984. Since then, there has been a succession of managers who have helped keep Gourmet Coffees alive and well – including Rick Osterman (1985-1991), Tom Doherty (1991-2001), Danica Kirka (2002-2010), Johnnie Lynch (2010-2013) and Scott Herrington (2013-present). currently Timothy Dillard leads the charge at Gourmet Coffee House & Café on Main Street in Forest Park. Dillard started working at GCPH&C as an apprentice brewer in 2013 and has since become one of its top leaders overseeing all aspects of coffee production including Roastery & Cafeteria operations as well as marketing, sales & leadership development initiatives along with overall day-to-day management responsibilities ensuring that quality assurance remains top priority while meeting customer demand for unique experiences each visit!

Forest Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in the U.S. state of Ohio, located along the Scioto River between Wooster and Mansfield. As of the 2010 census, the population was 4,527. The CDP includes portions of the cities of Wooster and Mansfield as well as parts of Richland Township. The area that would become Forest Park was first settled by Europeans in 1800s. In 1812, a small parcel of land on the Scioto River was purchased from John Forster for $500 cash. The site became known as Forster's Ferry Landing because ferrymen used to take passengers across the river there when it was still part of Pennsylvania. In 1819, Daniel Webster bought two acres adjacent to Forster's Ferry Landing from Nicholas Gibbs and built a cabin there named Webb House after his brother-in-law, John Webb Sr.. By 1830, Webb House had been renamed Forest Park after Dr. James Treadwell Forrest who donated land for a public park in 1832.. In 1836, David Ransom founded the first local bank in what is now Forest Park with $5 worth of gold coins he found while prospecting near present day Mansfield on the Scioto River. He named it The First National Bank Of Cleveland which opened its doors on October 25th, 1836 at 1405 Elmwood Ave., one block east of where Forbes Hotel now stands and just north of Euclid Street.. In 1850, Jeptha Hennepin laid out much of what is now Forest Park on his Mound Line Purchase which included most or all present day Richland Township and parts of Wooster City limits including what is today Forest Park Boulevard and High Road near current day State Route 9063A (Downtown Wooster). On November 8th 1850 Hennepin submitted his plat to shallower then 10 feet below water level for approval by US Senator Andrew Johnson who also owned some property within that boundary at that time.. On February 6th 1865 Isaac Perkins laid out another major portion or entirety including much present day NoMa Avenue between Euclid Street/High Road & Present Day State Route 9063A (Downtown Wooster), properties currently belonging to Cincinnati Steel Works & Dayton Manufacturing Company Inc.. This new section became known as Perry Woods due to Mr Isaac Perkins purchase thereof from Doctor Samuel Birch for $2 per acre plus interest during 1860-1861 period when physician operated private sawmill within boundaries now enclosed by downtownWooster walls etc.). That same year Mr Isaac Perkins sold this tract comprising nearly halfpresentday Perry Woods subdivision to Trustees Charles A Chambers Jr., Franklin Wirtzbaugh & George Fenton for $15000 cash + 5% interest annually thereafter ..... on December 15th 1865 Doctor Samuel Birch - President Agent @ Second National Bank - delivered an account book containing deeds totalling $185018 taken over parcels aforesaid from Ira Prentice c1800-1865 concerning Lots Lot 6 etc.) deed # 7 beingattoheirselfeagleviewpointhouse&lot8 Robert E Slaughter lot adjoining lots Nos 3 thru 5 etc.) deed #9 Jameson Ransom lot adjoining lots Nos 1 thru 3 etc....... Deed #10 Abraham Lincoln lot situated upon eastern edge line following stream bed thence down stream direction about three quarters mile Indian ground grantee called "Creek" grantee name unknown..... General Grant Cooley laid out part or entire east side immediately south side OF Creek following its course through present day Richland Township lines......... On January 17th 1870 John Hennipin conveyed part or all Craigie Wood addition thereto consisting approximately 154 acres further lying east side extending into Richland Township bordering Reserve Rd.... Became partofCityOfWooster effective July 1st 1870 .... On March 30th 1870 Richard Harding patented 640 acres more lying east side generally parallel with creek extending into Richland Township embracing reserve rightnow enclosed by downtownWooster walls...... Which patents were taken up include tracts covering: Lotsnos 12 thru 16.....Now occupiedbyRichmondVillageandStateRoute98

These traders brought back beans from America and began roasted them specifically for Europeans who were then able to enjoy their unique flavor profile. The first espresso machine was built in 1795 by Angelo Conti in Italy – making espresso one of the earliest drinks ever made! During this time, however, gourmet coffee wasn't just a luxury item for elites; it also served as a primary source of nutrition for everyday people. Forest Park was a rural town in southern Ohio, located about 20 miles south of Cincinnati. In the late 1800s, it became a popular spot for weekend getaways for wealthy Cincinnati residents and their families. The community enjoyed a rich history dating back to 1824 when Forest Park was part of the Town of West Chester. In 1881, the village of Forest Park merged with the neighboring village of Fairfield. From that point on, Forest Park became an integral part of Fairfield Township. Throughout its history, Forest Park has been home to a variety of businesses and organizations including: Agrarian Society, Methodist Episcopal Church (later known as First Presbyterian), Baptist church (now Baptist Bible College), Post Office and Masonic Lodge No. 2 (now called United States Post office No. 6), Agricultural School and Nursery School (now known as Fountain View Elementary), Playground and Pool Association (now known as Fillmore Fields Recreation Area) and McPherson House Museum. In 1975, much to the dismay of many residents, forest park was annexed by Cincinnati into city limits. This annexation not only removed much-needed open space but also created some challenges for future generations who continue to call this area their home – such as increased traffic congestion at crossings near downtownCincinnati.,and lack of public transportation access within city limits

The Forest Park area was first settled by the Delaware people in the late 17th century. The area was purchased by the United States in 1812, and became part of the Northwest Territory. In 1814, it was combined with other areas to form what is now Cleveland County. The name Forest Park came from a family of visionaries who founded Ohio State University in 1837.
