Fairview Park is a small, rural community in the extreme northwest corner of Ohio. It is bordered by I-71 on the north, US-25 on the east, and Uniontown to the south. The population was 1,534 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1846 when a group of tin miners and their families moved from Westville to Fairview Station on what is now US 25. The name "Fairview" came about because of an agreement that had been made between General Washington and Tecumseh regarding boundary lines between Ohio and Indiana. In 1852, Fairview Station was abandoned because it was too far from any other settlements in the area. In 1872, a post office called FairVIEW was established at Fairview Park after being created by act of Congress under provisions of The Kansas–Nebraska Act of 1868. At this time there were only three towns in Ohio: Covington (now Cincinnati), Dayton, and Toledo. For many years, FairVIEW post office accepted letters only from residents in those three towns; however, beginning in 1906 they began to accept letters from all over Ohio. In 1916, they became responsible for handling all mail within Fairview Park itself as well asmails sent out into Randolph County (the portion of Ohio adjoining) but not within Fairview Station's boundaries

Fairview Park is a census-designated place in Muskegon County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Grand Rapids–Muskegon Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area that would become Fairview Park was first settled by French and Indian War veterans in 1795. In 1806, Congress designated what are now Muskegon and Monroe counties as part of Indiana Territory. The land lay within present-day Muskegon County until it was annexed by Michigan in 1837. The name "Fairview" originated with a view from an overlook overlooking the park on which Detroit stood on the north side of the river St Clair. Army engineers built Fort Dearborn here in 1812 to protect Detroit from Native Americans who had earlier attacked and destroyed much of the city. A toll for admission to the fort was collected from visitors and it remained an important military outpost into the 20th century. In 1825, Colonel James Wilkinson donated 640 acres (2 km²) of land along Dearborn River to be used for educational purposes including a college and university that would eventually become Wayne State University. He also offered $5 per acre (0·36 ha) towards founding a town or village on his donation so that inhabitants could enjoy access to education and commerce without having to leave their homes. The land extended along Woodward Avenue from today's east side of MLK Boulevard south to just west of I-75 where it met US 22/US 131/I-94 near what is now Auburn Hills Airport; Madison Road extends north from this intersection past downtown Dearborn Heights until today's eastern edge beyond Higgins Road inside present day Southgate Township boundaries; Whitehall Rd continues northwest as an arterial through Dearborn Heights before turning southeast toward Woodland Hills; all other roads were given names following General George Washington's order ""You will name every public road after one or more great men who have contributedinguished themselves in some way upon our independence"" The first institutions established in Fairview Park included Wayne State College (now Wayne State University), opened in November 1865; Albion School, founded by subscription on October 16, 1865; FairVIEW Infirmary & Collegiate School for Boys opened December 15, 1865 serving students up until January 1st 1870 when it became known as homeopathic school #1 due to its founder John Dorman sharingWATCH Tower with Dr Samuel Hahnemann House there; Grange Hall (now Eastern Market Place) was built September 6th 1870 by Mrs Wright as schoolhouse Number 2 while homeopathic school #1 continued operations without interruption until November 12th 1870 when Mrs Wright moved into her own house located east off Third Street between Main Street and Woodward Avenue.; Cooks Institute operated briefly out of Grange Hall during its early years but classes were relocated back inside Grenge Hall soon afterwards because Ofsted inspectors found no members available homework help catered meal program catered meals only institute closed permanently August 3rd 1888 due to lack of money not being able to keep up with enrollment explosion caused by opening new mills along I-75 & US 131& Northern Line industrialization which led businesses away from downtown & then increased travel rates associated with railroad development throughout northwest Michigan .
