The Earles left their mark on Euclid even further when they donated money towards construction of the current library building on Park Avenue back in 1881; that same year saw the opening of Euclid’s first drive-in movie theater (the Columbian). Over time many more businesses have come and gone within Euclid's borders: during Prohibition (1937-1948), alcohol sales were not allowed within city limits so all business closed down;; though prohibition did not return until 1949 - after which time much commercial activity resumed - but by then Elfreth’s Liquor had long since moved away from downtown onto High Road (later I-675).
