Englewood is an unincorporated community in Wayne County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,890 at the 2010 census. Englewood was established as a post office in 1836 and became a town in 1903. It was renamed Englewood by George W. Engle after his estate there. The name refers to two valleys that run through the town: the main valley forms part of the east-west border of the town and is bordered by hills to its north; and a smaller valley lies just to the south of it and forms the eastern edge of Englewood Cemetery.

Englewood is a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, located in the process of being annexed into the city. It is named after Englewood Cemetery, which was once part of Englewood Township. The area was first settled by the Lenape tribe and their allies in the 17th century. In 1801, when Cleveland became a city, its founders designated land within what is now Englewood as part of what would become Euclid Park. The village core grew around two schools – one founded in 1839 and one built in 1892 – and several businesses including a grocery store, a hardware store and an insurance company soon opened up. By 1907, however, all but one business had closed or been moved to newer areas within Euclid Park. But even Lossiemouth’s departure could not quench the thirst for ale that seemed to be unique to this small town until after Prohibition began in 1920. With no breweries left in Cleveland proper open for business due to prohibition laws (or lack thereof), many people turned to brewing on their own properties- both domestic and international microbreweries sprang up throughout theribe during this time period. In 1924-25 - thanks largely to new mayor John Travolta - Englewood got its first public park with space for baseball diamonds and football fields; it also saw major renovations such as new classrooms and streetlights brought over from downtown Cleveland. One hundred years later - on July 4th - that park was renamed “Greenfield Park” in memory of those who fought for Cleveland during World War I. Today much of that infrastructure remains intact including restrooms, roadsides benches and playground equipment dating back to 1916-17 (the last year it served as an exclusively public park). Today's economy has shifted somewhat since then: heavy industry has either left or been replaced by light manufacturing jobs; while real estate continues to enjoy high levels of interest among home buyers/sellers alike due various factors such as easy access to Interstate 75 (and immediate proximity to other cities) and relatively low crime rates compared with other suburban communities nearby (although there have been occasional police blotters here). Still though, Englewood remains one of Northeast Ohio's most vibrant communities with plenty going on every day despite some residents' reluctance towards modernitydue primarilyto fears about possible displacement by fast-growing suburbs like North Olmsted or Strongsville

In 1865, following the end of the war,Englewood became an agricultural community and experienced rapid growth until World War II when it lost its status as an agricultural community. During World War II,Englewood also became known for its production of munitions.
