Dublin, Ohio is a small city in the southern part of Ohio. The population was 9,859 at the 2010 census. The city is named after the Irish god Dubh Linn. It began as a trading post on the Scioto River in 1795 and by 1811 had reached its current size. In 1827, Dublin became an incorporated town with a population of 10,000 people. The first coffee shop in Dublin opened in 1827 and was run by John D’Arcy and his son James D’Arcy Jr. Coffee beans were brought overland from Europe by oxen across the Scioto River. At first,Dublin buyers bought only prepared coffee goods from European merchants but soon started to purchase whole bean beans from farmers around the area as well. By 1850 Dublin had become one of the largest coffee-producing cities in America with a total production of 350 metric tons per year. Dublin, Ohio is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Trumbull County. As of the 2010 census, the population was 58,814. The city's inhabitants are known as Dubliners, after their original home town in Ireland. The name comes from "Dún Laoghaire", meaning "the place where light shines." The first people to live here were the Potawatomi and they called it "Wabash". In 1805, General Anthony Wayne attacked this village and burned it down, killing all but six people in what is known as the Wabash Massacre. This event helped make Dublin a desirable location for white settlers because it demonstrated that Indian hostilities could not stop them from moving through their territory. The only buildings still standing from Wabash Village are a small house on Trout Road and two logs that form part of the foundation of what is now St Mary's Catholic Church on Elm Street (now Columbus Avenue). The rest of Wabash Village has been destroyed by development or replaced with other homes since then. However, some artifacts associated with that time period remain scattered around Dublin including pottery shards found at Pioneer Park and items found inside an abandoned barn on State Street near Sixth Avenue which may have once been used as a trading post between Indians and white traders during pre-Columbian times. In 1812, John Wesley founded Methodism in this area which helped spur economic growth in Dublin over the next few decades until its heyday in the late 19th century when more than 1 million people lived there according to Census records. During this time period many famous citizens were born or raised here such as William McKinley who was president during World War I; Fenton Osborn who became one of America’s most successful businessmen; actress Dame Margaret Sanger; author Jules Verne; playwright Eugene O’Neill; basketball coach Rick Majerus; Allis Chalmers Brewing Company founder George Allis Jr.; singer Lou Rawls and his wife Judy Garland among others However, by 1920 parts of Dublin began to decline due to technological advances such as automobiles which had made traveling much easier while also causing jobs to be lost at local factories throughout Trumbull County especially those related to manufacturing goods like auto parts and tires Despite these challenges however, by 1960 overall employment levels had increased by 50 percent making Dublin one of America’s fastest-growing cities Todayadays there are many businesses located within walking distance including restaurants, coffee shops/cafes/pastrieshops etc., banks/credit unions/banking services etc., medical centers/hepatitis clinics etc., arts & culture venues (Museums Of Art + Cleveland Orchestra), hotels - typically 3 level luxury units (~$100-$300 per night), major retail chains (JCPenney Sears Roebuck + Home Depot) - primarily Target & Walmart
