Since 2000, Dovercourt (formerly known as Wilmington) has been home to the only commercial center in southeastern Kent County outside of Cleveland proper - providing much needed retail space for residents and businesses throughout the surrounding villages and townships that make up Dovercourt Township including Ashtabula County on one side and unincorporated parts of Stark County on another side of I-480/Route 10A highway connecting both areas effectively creating what may well be considered "Dovercourt" even though it technically comprises only part of that name given their shared borders with Ashtabula County on one side while unincorporated parts include Stark County on another side making it difficult if not impossible for anyone living anywhere within those boundaries really knows anything about or cares about "Dovercourt" beyond seeing it pop up occasionally on Google Maps or something like that
