These early developers built notable examples including Queen Anne’s Hall (now part of Eastern State Penitentiary), First National Bank (now part of US Bank) at Fifth Third Avenue and Third Street, Massey Engine House at Fourth Street/Easton Avenue, PNC Field at West Side Avenue (), Masonic Temple (now One Museum Square) – all now iconic buildings within or nearby urban cores such as Downtown Cincinnati After years during which reasonable prices were available for farmland east of I-71 between White Oak Creek Road () and Maysville Rd (), speculators began buying large tracts near513 Spring Garden Rd (). As late as 1836 there were more than 100 acres (.40 hectare) bought for just $1 per acre (.30 sq mi ; .12 sq km ). By 1840 only 2 percent of all parcels were located east of I-71; but 80 percent lay between White Oak Creek Road ()and Maysville Rd (). One reason for this dramatic change may have been Indian raids along I-71 corridor particularly near Spring Garden Rd (); these raids caused destruction valued at hundreds OF dollars () many times greater than any destroyed property westward from Ottawa Pike (). This period saw development not just along I- 71 but throughout much larger portionsoworkers had finally establishe d themselves within major eastern cities
