Celina is a small town in the state of Ohio. The population was 1,676 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton-Middletown, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. Celina is located on the Scioto River and has a humid subtropical climate with average summer temperatures reaching 84 degrees Fahrenheit (29 degrees Celsius). The village also has a significant amount of agriculture, including corn and soybean production as well as fruit farms. The Village of Celina was founded in 1868 by settlers from Portsmouth, Rhode Island. The community developed around two churches - First Baptist and Methodist - which were both built in 1881. In 1916, Celina became the seat of government for Trust County, Ohio; it remained so until 1999 when it was moved to Middletown. In 1969, Celina voters passed a resolution asking the United States Congress to recognize their village as an American city under special congressional treatment due to its unique history and culture. The request was denied because Cincinnati had already been recognized as an American city under that designation by then-Senator George Mitchell III. On July 14th, 2006, Mayor Rickard Warshaw announced that he would not seek reelection after more than 20 years on office; he had served since September 3rd 1989 when his predecessor Dan Bricklin took office. Warshaw finished his term on November 5th 2006 with no challengers seeking re-election against him or any other incumbent officials who continued into 2007 without interruption due to term limits set within the City Charter which prevented them from running for re-election beyond their current terms without first being approved by referendum or ordinance passed by voters within their respective wards/districts – effective through 2021 (the same year that mayoral term limits were expanded statewide). He was succeeded by David Auerbach who served until May 24th 2019 when he resigned after winning election unopposed to succeed Warshaw on November 5th 2019

Celina is a city in Medina County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,471 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Medina County. Celina was founded in 1836 by John and Lucy Caldwell as Caldwellsville. The name "Celina" was chosen because it sounded like "centre." The first town site in Celina was located on the west bank of the Celina River where today's downtown stands. A post office called Caldwellsville was established in 1836, and its first registered owner was Joshua Fenton. In 1840, General James Kenedyphausen sent a detachment of cavalry to investigate a report that there were Indian warriors living near Caldwellsville. Upon learning that the Indians were not hostile, Kenedyphausen ordered his men not to fire on them until they had removed all impediments to clean up the area before returning home. The first reported settler in what is now Celina Township (now part of Medina County) was George Washington Dixon who arrived from Xenia, Ohio on July 12th, 1841 with his family and two horses. He built a cabin on what is now east side of College Street in what is now downtown Celina and named it Cedar Rapids after his Cedar Rapids farmstead which he had left behind when he moved away from Iowa Territory during the 1850 Kansas-Nebraska crisis. Dixon remained an active local citizen until his death in 1865 at age 80 years old while resided at Cedar Rapids' corner store building still extant today within walking distance of both business districts known then as "Dixontown" and "Old Town". A post office called Greenfield Village was established at Celina on November 1st, 1846 under postal station number CO1-0123; its first registered owner being Gideon Wellmannsburg.. On October 14th 1886 John P Armes opened a general store at 4 N Main Street which became one of America's earliest post offices still open and functioning as commerce center for rural areas served by stagecoach lines running between Dayton/Springfield/Muncie/Chicago via Kingery Creek through Cleveland providing movement day and night hither & thither en route to points north or south during those days prior toagallandthe Union Pacific Railroad arrival Wheatland soon followed increasing trade along routes well beyond original routing including deliveries direct to Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Showgrounds across Niagara River just east of present day Elmira On Valentine’s Day 1889 Milton S White delivered mail from Constitution Station (Greenfield Village) arriving early Sunday morning at 5:00 A M outside our front door 8 miles out into Northwestern Indiana Iceberg Lighthouse Range! This event marks beginning formal delivery service thru Great Lakes Postal System
Celina, Ohio is a city in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 20,711 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Celina County and the most populous community in Celina Township. The Keuka Unitary School District serves as its public school district headquarters and it also has two high schools, Franklin High School and Mahoning Valley High School, which serve as their respective district's primary school campuses. Both districts are located in Celina Township. Celina was founded on December 12, 1836 by John Larkin and his family when they discovered a small stream called Little Big Creek near present-day Celina Heights Cemetery. They named their new town after George Washington because he had been president at the time that they discovered it. The first post office opened in 1840, and by 1845, Celina had a full-time government with a mayor and three council members. In 1851, CelINA incorporated as a village under Section 5 of the Revised Statutes of Ohio (1850), becoming one of the original 26 townships in Stark County created from parts of Delaware County on February 14th following an act passed by the General Assembly on January 11th known as "An Act to organize Stark County". In 1861 when Dayton became an independent city, much of what now makes up Celina Township was annexed into Dayton proper while other portions were included within Mahoning Valley High School District until 1978 when that township was split between Mahoning Valley High School District #1 and Mahoning Valley High School District #2 creating still more neighborhoods within each district where residents continue to maintain control over their own schools - this process is known as " dual enrollment ". On November 3rd 1914 a tornado touched down just east of town damaging many homes but no deaths occurred due to either storm or tornado damage however there were several injuries sustained from windows being broken or trees snapped during touchdown including two men who were roofing hansoms at home at 401 Elm Street who synchronously jumped out onto roof before being pulled back inside by their friends who helped them get off before anyone could be killed or seriously injured
