Cambridge, Ohio is a small town located in Muskingum County, Ohio. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Cambridge Township was James Caldwell in 1801. The township was organized on November 3, 1826 by an act of the General Assembly. At that time it consisted of only six lots and had a population of just seventy three people. However, over time the township grew as settlers arrived and added to its boundaries. In 1830, Cambridge Township erected a gristmill on the banks of the Monongahela River which became one of its most important assets and remained in operation until 1907. In 1865, Cambridge Township trustees built a schoolhouse which still stands today and remains one of the town's most popular tourist attractions. The Arrival Industry in early America changed how much land was available for settlement so many men turned to agriculture to secure their future because this was their only means of subsistence during these difficult times. This led to some important changes within Cambridgeshire Township too; starting with incorporation as a village in 1868 it became more democratic with more elected officials including two trustees from each lot who voted on all matters pertaining to village status such as budgeting and operations; however, voting rights were not universal throughout the community until after World War II when neighborhood committees were formed to help manage day-to-day affairs within their respective communities (Fowler 1989). Many businesses closed down due to lack of customers or competition from other towns within Muskingum County during this time period but one stand out business that continued throughout these tough times was J C Caldwell’s Brewery which published The Cambridge Gazette from 1839 until 1961 when they merged into G A Harrold’s paper company (Langton 1990). This brewery produced Burton ale which has been enjoyed by millions around North America ever since!

The name Cambridge comes from English settlers who arrived there in the mid-19th century and named it for the university that they saw located in London. The first school in Cambridge opened in 1814. In 1830, when Columbiana County was created, Cambridge was one of its four townships. In 1868, it became a village and then a town when it separate from Columbiana County. On July 1, 1921, Cambridge became an independent city after being annexed by Cleveland. It has been an agricultural community since its founding and now produces corn and soybeans as well as other crops such as apples and grapes.

Cambridge, Ohio was an unincorporated community in Athens County, Ohio, United States. The post office at Cambridge was established in 1849, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907.
