Brunswick is an unincorporated community in Scioto County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,534 at the 2010 census. It lies northeast of the city of Cleveland on a small stream that empties into the Cuyahoga River. The first Europeans to visit Brunswick were French traders who landed there in 1688 and named it "Brunswick" for their ship, La Brune. The first permanent settler was James Caskey. He built a log cabin on the site of his current home in 1783. In 1814, he donated land to the town of Portsmouth for a courthouse and schoolhouse. The town charter was granted on July 3, 1815 by Governor John Pemberton. In 1825, Brunswick voted to become part of Cleveland proper. That year it also became the site of its first railway station which opened with four cars service on December 5th, 1825 from Cleveland to Youngstown (now Dayton). On January 11th, 1830, Brunswick voters passed a resolution approving annexation by Cleveland of neighboring village of Zionsville (now Aurora). On February 21st 1830Zionsville voters passed a resolution annexing Brunswick as well creating what is now called Zionsville Township within Scioto County government limits In 1836-37 new buildings were added to downtown from what is today's Niles Street eastward and southward as a result of increased trade activity with Toledo during the American Civil War although no battle took place there

Brunswick, Ohio is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Kent County. The population was 17,824 at the 2010 census. It is located on the southern edge of Akron, near its junction with Interstate 71 and Interstate 90. The first Europeans to visit Brunswick were traders from Holland in 1614 and again in 1618 when they established a trading post there under the name "Brunswick". The town was founded by John DeWitt in 1801 as part of his effort to create an agricultural heartland around Canton, Michigan. The town was incorporated on December 12, 1802. In 1830, it became home to one of the two national banks in America (the other being Philadelphia National Bank). In 1840, United States Congressman William Atherton set up shop here and began selling land for development that would include what are now downtown Akron and parts of both sides of I-71/90 today. Development continued until 1892 when a fire destroyed most of downtown Akron; this left Brunswick as the only major city remaining within Summit County after Cleveland moved out westward during the late 19th century. Today's downtown area is still mostly residential but has seen some commercial activity since 9/11 including Tower Place mall which opened in 2002 adjacent to FirstEnergy Stadium which hosted the NFL's Cleveland Browns from 1999-2002 until their move to University Circle stadium just north of downtown Akron in 2004; also nearby is One World Trade Center Tower (formerly known as Goodyear Tire & Rubber Tower) which served as an observation deck for many years before it collapsed due to corrosion on September 11th 2001; tower components have been salvaged and used as part of new office buildings throughout central business district since then - providing unique views over Downtown Akron from many different levels! Downtown Akron also includes several blocks bounded by Fourth Street NW to the south (west side), Fifth Street NW to the north (east side), Erie Boulevard NE / US 421 / I-271 east / west (north Side), Market Street SE / Wabash Avenue SE between Third and Fourth Streets NW, Ashtabula Avenue NE between Second and Third Streets NW, Vine Street SE between Third and Fourth Streets NW
