Brook Park is a small town in theuy of Athens County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,019 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Toledo Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village was founded in 1853 and incorporated as a town in 1868.

Brook Park is a village in Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Cincinnati metropolitan area. The first settlement in Brook Park was made on November 12, 1811 by George and Martha Woodruff from Scotland. They named their land "Greene Township." The village was incorporated on December 15, 1835. In 1951, the town of Greenfield annexed Brook Park. Brook Park has a rich history that can be found in its many events and residents. Some of the earliest settlers to Brook Park were George and Martha Woodruff who arrived in 1811 as part of the Ohio Company with 9 other settlers from Glasgow, Scotland (now Ionia). When they landed at Clifton Heights they were met by Captain John Brooks (later Governor) who told them to go ahead but if they had any problems to come back soon because he would take care of everything for them. After landing they built a cabin which still stands today on what is now Vermont Avenue near where it meets Maple Street. From this home George and Martha grew their families and started trading goods with local farmers while also learning about America's emerging democracy and how to build churches and schools here in America's new nation. They were followed by others over time including James Auld who founded Greenfield in 1837 before moving his business across the street to what is now First National Bank building on West Jefferson Boulevard just east of Maple Street today’s Stoneybrook Mall property line west of Third Street “and all around thereabouts until pretty well everything came within two or three miles” according to one account They also operated a ferry service from their home across Cedar Creek carrying passengers across until stopped due to bad weather conditions about 1800 when their son-in-law James Simpson (who later became Mayor) took over operations giving Ferry Boatloads of passengers each day crossing without stopping! This ferry service continued until 1840 during which time passenger rates ranged anywhere from 1¢ per person up to 5¢ per person depending on class! ferries still run every few weeks during high season today! Another early resident was Druellen Smith who settled along East High Street next door (now Partridge Road) after traveling through Orange County visiting friends there en route back home from AlbanyNY He opened an inn/bar called The Gables later becoming known as Greene’s Tavern after being elected Justice Of Peace for Greene Township making him one of only 3 such people in Ohio at that time according etc….Druellen moved his family into his house on what is now Elmira Drive just south side current day Brookpark Village limits beginning with lot number 1 !! Many other families followed suit over time like David Lowenstein bought lot number 4 adjacent thereto originally containing lots 6 & 7 between Elmira Drive & Beaver Run Rd., these blocks remaining unincorporated until 1945 when parts thereof became portions of Brookpark Village Limits then again unincorporated until reaching present day boundaries! One event that stand out above all others occurred during World War II when over 350 men from both sides gathered here at Springbrook Farms Racetrack consisting mostly American Expeditionary Forces Officers living off food coupons distributed by Post Office Power Department With some additional soldiers coming via train we raised money for our Countryman Resistance Committee!! Not only did this provide us uniforms but we got free milk too!!!!! All this effort paid off as we liberated Europe from Nazi occupation!!! Most importantly however it helped solidify our community relationship & cooperation thru thick & thin throughout those trying times!!!! Thanks for sharing your story everyone~~
