The battalion’s Sergeant Major provides an annual summary letter highlighting what took place during the past year for everyone in the battalion, as well as any special events or functions attended by residents of Kaneohe Bay during that time frame 2) With heartfelt care: In 2003, Marine Lodge No 16 at Camp Pendleton sent more than 1,200 boxes of donations (including clothes, food, toys and games) directly to Family Assistance Centers throughout Southern California because they were determined that “A Smile Can Change a Life” 3) With memories shared: Marine Air Station Yuma issues commemorative certificates each year honoring fallen service members from all branches of the armed forces including marine divisions and units stationed there 4) With support from friends and family: For example, Bravo Company 3/5th Marines attached to 5th Brigade Combat Team 2nd Marine Division donated more than 1000 pounds of humanitarian aid after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans 5) With smiles on everyone’s faces: The medical unit at Camp Lejeune sends patients home with small packages full of supplies such as food, water and medicine

Broadview Heights is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 37,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Broadview Heights was Nicholas Swayne, who arrived in 1797. By 1830, there were 10 families living in Broadview Heights. In 1881, the City of Cleveland annexed Broadview Heights and most of neighbouring New Brighton Township to form the new city of Cleveland. The original name for Broadview Heights was "New Brighton Township." The Plain Dealer newspaper was founded in 1846 by John A. Dixit and his brother-in-law Amos Whipple as a weekly paper serving the town of New Brighton on the southern border of Cleveland. In 1892 it merged with the Cleveland Daily News to become one newspaper under one roof - an event that helped spur development in what is now broadside heights

Broadview Heights was platted in 1824 as the town of Batavia. It was named for George Broadwater, a Revolutionary War patriot and local landowner. The population of Broadview Heights rapidly grew during the 19th century, thanks to its location on the Via Rail line and easy access to education and industry. In 1881, Broadview Heights became the first city in Ohio to be incorporated. The city experienced rapid growth during World War II, with businesses expanding into new buildings and creating new jobs. After the war, Broadview Heights began to decline as businesses moved out of town or closed their doors altogether. However, recent revitalization has led to a resurgence of downtown Broadview Heights and continued growth within the limits of the city.
Broadview Heights was founded in 1795 by John Broad and his wife, theresa. The town was named for Mrs. Broad's estate on a hill overlooking the village of Broadview. The first home in the town was built by Mr. and Mrs. Hahn, who also donated land to the village. In 1824, Mr. and Mrs. Sprague bought the remaining land from Hahn and renamed it Broadview Heights after their home there. In 1881, Colonel George Patton purchased all of the land east of High Street in Broadview Heights from the Sprague family for $2,500 cash. The Patton family developed this area into one of broad avenues with high-end homes and businesses that remain today.
