It wasn’t until the early 1800s that coffee started being shipped all over the world. The first place to start tasted great – Blue Ash, Ohio! Coffee was brought to America by English settlers in the mid-19th century. Coffee became popularized in the late 1800s when it began appearing on American menus as a means of getting people through the day. In 1870, Java Coffee Company opened its first store in Cincinnati, Ohio. By 1914, there were over 100 Java Coffee stores across North America! However, most of the popularity of coffee came from Europe and Asia where it was used for espresso and Turkish coffee drinks. In Blue Ash, Ohio however, we continue to roast our own beans and enjoy this unique product wholeheartedly!

U.S. Coffee Company moved to Blue Ash, Ohio in 1912 and opened their first shop on W. Fourth Street. The company continued to grow and expand throughout the 1920s, opening more stores in the area before moving its headquarters to 223 S Broadway in 1929. In 1933, U.S. Coffee became part of Peet's Inc., which would later become Starbucks Corporation In the early 1990s, U.S. Coffee closed its doors for good after many years of operations in Blue Ash; however, some of their legacy beverages (e.g., K-Cups) still remain available online and at retail locations today.
Blue Ash is a town in Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,995 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Mahoning County. The unincorporated communities of Blue Ash and Hollidaysburg are also located in Mahoning County. The first settlement in what is now Blue Ash was made on May 16, 1814 by three German farmers: Johann Gottlieb Erdmann, Matthias König and Heinrich Hecht from Hanau am Rhein. On November 2, 1817, George Stephenson set up shop as a blacksmith at the junction of State Route 24 and US Route 12 in what is now Blue Ash. From this location he developed the business of running trains between Cincinnati and Cleveland over the Maumee River. In 1828 Stephenson built a sawmill on Mill Creek Rd east of town which became one of the most important mills in Ohio until it closed its doors in 1922. Blue Ash was platted on December 5, 1827 by John Henniker under the name "Hollidaysburg." On March 7, 1830 David Ziegler laid out a town lot north of present-day Hollidaysburg with land that he had acquired from Nicholas Grossebeck for $4 per acre (0·93 per sq km). The first post office was established at Hollidaysburg on July 1, 1830; it reopened on October 15th after being closed for two months due to snowstorm conditions. On April 20th 1861 when Ohio became one state within the Union under James Buchanan as president not only did BlueAsh become part of Montgomery County but also alluvial soil areas were added to form part of that county's area code (945). When service began offering freight rates through Pennsylvania Railroad Company stations several miles west along I-80/US-12 many residents decided to move to new homes closer to services instead of staying where they were or risking floods during heavy rains like those that occurred frequently during 1861 & 1862 especially around Springfield Township near present day Dayton OH. After much discussion an Act to establish a township committee was passed by General Assembly #1 on December 10th 1861 which would provide platting instructions for proposed townships adjacent to other townships so more people could have their say about where they wanted their community situated within township boundaries - including BlueAsh! Townspeople quickly convened themselves into committees charged with developing platting regulations/ ordinances & surveyed lots; much progress had been made before winter struck again that year interrupting construction plans! November 1st 1863 when Brown’s Register published “The Statistical Account Of The Colony Of Greeneville In Union Territory” list 9 original members cooperating (& later expanding) with Mr John A Brown Surveyor assigned To document lots included herein named: David Ziegler Jacob Cushman Geo W Denslow Casparus Slinger Sylvester Wexler Amos Miller tracts numbered XXVI bis XIX inclusive Joseph A Brown . . . The town grew rapidly during the late 1800s due to its location and commerce opportunities related to coal mining and other logging endeavors. In recent decades, however, there has been an increase in development within the town limits as blue ash gas production increased due to new drilling techniques forFindlay shale oil fields in nearby County Fairfield. As such, Blue Ash continues to experience rapid growth both politically and economically – making it one of America’s fastest-growing towns!
