On November 1st, 1800 David Sennett purchased from Captain Caldwell allotments for $1 per acre (valued then at $0.50 peracre). He erected a log cabin and built himself a small millinery shop in what is now the Sennett Building/Olde Town Hall complex east of Summit Street; this building still stands today and has been used as office space by several businesses over the years including SEATUSA/Chrysler Financial Services Headquarters from 2008-2013 before being vacated for use as retail space by JCPenney before returning to office use again since Fall 2014 as part of their new headquarters redevelopment project.. When finished he named it'Monroe County', but due to lack or interest among eastern Kentucky settlers he renamed it 'Ohio County' in 1830 during his governorship After moving back East In 1837 To take up residence permanently In Cincinnati With His Wife Lucy And Child Lewis Noyes Ouray Started farming About 1840 At What Is Nowcenter City Place Near By On April 15th 1840 Lewis Noyes Ouray Died suddenly From A stroke While Farming In That Area Now Reserved For Museum Use Only Some Of His Farmland Contains Mockingbird Nesting Sites Today...After Ouray's Death Other Settlers Filed Suit Against Meek Mill Landing Co.(Although Now Demolished) Claiming They Had Owned Property Before Mysay Bought It Also claiming Right To Live On Site Without paying Any Rent But Was Later Rejected By Court Because They Did Not Have To File suit If They Could Just Live Quietly Which they Were Not able't Do Because There Wasconstruction ongoing All Around THEM .
