The Ohio National Guard's blue ash unit was activation on July 1, 1916. The unit was first organized as the 165th Infantry Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry. On August 15, 1916, the regiment was redesignated as the 164th Infantry Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry and activated at Camp Chase in Cleveland. On December 11, 1916, the regiment was re-designated as the 164th Infantry Regiment Ohio National Guard and mobilized at Camp Sherman in Columbus. The regiment arrived in France on January 8, 1917 and served with distinction until April 1919 when it returned to America and disbanded.
Blue Ash, Ohio is a town in Carroll County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in what is now Blue Ash was Nathan Bedford Wright in 1824. The town was named for blue ash trees that were then being grown on the farm where it was founded. The first post office was established in 1830 and the current one opened in 1907. Blue Ash began to grow rapidly during the late 19th century as a result of its location near Akron and other manufacturing centers. Manufacturing production peaked around 1950 but has since declined; today most jobs are related to services or retail trade. However, some farmers remain important landowners and continue to produce blue ash trees. Today, Blue Ash offers limited opportunities for education beyond high school level; however, there are several cultural attractions available including an annual art festival and a variety of restaurants and businesses.

Blue Ash, Ohio is a small town in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 2,812 at the 2010 census. It is located in southeastern Ohio on the Wabash River, about 30 miles (48 km) east of Cincinnati and 60 miles (96 km) west of Dayton. The first permanent settler in Blue Ash was John Smith who arrived in 1795. He named his land "Blue Ash." Over time other settlers arrived, including James Caldwell in 1802 and Isaac Aspinwall in 1807-08. In 1814, Blue Ash became part of the Northwest Territory under the United States Constitution; it remained so until it was admitted to the Union as a state on March 15th OF 1912. In 1865, due to its location on a natural stream known as the Wabash River between Cincinnati and Dayton - both cities were growing rapidly at that time - Blue Ash was chosen for an important railroad crossing point over that waterway just south of downtown Dayton which would create new industry and jobs adjacent to those already present. This crossing would become one of America's most famous landmarks with people from all over coming to see it and take photos or videos thereof before continuing their journey onward or spending their night there while doing so! After years of development thanks to this railroad infrastructure however - including numerous housing developments, hospitals and office buildings along with countless stores soon sprang up around it all – by 1990 only 1% of its original residents still lived there day-to-day while 99% had moved away during that same decade alone! However even though many residents have now left (most moving into suburbs outside Dayton), much has been preserved within what once were some very specific neighborhoods such as Whitehall Heights & Woodbury Heights – two upper-middle class areas located directly across from each other nears main shopping area Westside Village – home to Sears & Kmart until recently when they closed down but much of their mall remains today including live music events held there monthly now for more than 10 years! "What started out as a small community quickly grew into one of America’s most vibrant cities," writes historian Rick Husband about Redevelopment Authority plans for nearby Whitehall Township which includes plans for mixedUse development adjacent to existing homesites throughout Green Valley neighborhood nearly adjoining Interstate 75 boundary where retail space would be available along with public transportation options contemporary with today's PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM HERE IN OHIO!. "With success came opportunities lost elsewhere…" he continues "…the county government purchased lots surrounding Redevelopment Authority property line back then too…a playground park opened up next door called “Redevelopment Park” serving not just blue ash residents but also neighboring Whitesburg Township!" Today almost every house mix together exception being single family residences dating back centuries few if any remain unoccupied since these properties reverted back into agricultural land following prohibition Era repeal In 1932 $1 million was raised by local citizens through an issue referendum authorizing annexation by Cincy City Councilmember David Latham who served as Interim Mayor at the time after mayor Henson resigned due to health concerns; incorporation occurred resulting in name change from township/city split entity Columbus Local School District #2 Incorporated 1932." All current mayors since have been Redskins fans! Well actually I might add Redskins assistant coaches are currently employed here locally but I digress….
The Blue Ash area was first settled by the Shawnee in 1795. In 1814, the United States acquired it from Great Britain and renamed it "Ashland". The town was founded on the site of an old Shawnee village. By 1830, Blue Ash had a population of around 100 people. By 1850, the population had grown to around 200 people. During the American Civil War, Blue Ash sided with the Union side and lost many residents to Confederate forces. After the war, some residents returned to Blue Ash and established a new community called Parkersburg in 1865. Parkersburg grew quickly into a large town with a population over 1,000 people by 1880. In 1925, blue ash merchant Ewing Gifford donated land for what is now University City Schools in what is now downtown Blue Ash. The city of Blue Ash was incorporated on December 12, 1927. In 1930, blue ash industrialist Harry Weitz donated land for what is now State Fairgrounds in downtown Blue Ash. The fairgrounds continued to be used until 1985 when they were replaced by present-day Joe's Pizza Place (now Joes). On July 7, 1938 during World War II local resident Floyd Hebard registered his home as one of two hundred homes used as a training center for Nazi Germany's Luftwaffe pilots under Project Paperclip which aimed to bring talented Germans back to their homeland after they had been forced into exile by Adolf Hitler's regime
