Bedford Heights is a small town in theuy of Bedford Township, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The population was 5,361 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland metropolitan area. Bedford Heights was platted in 1827 by Nicholas Bedford and his brother John Bedford. The name of the town comes from a confusion of two villages, Bedminster in Delaware County and Bedloe in Potter County. In 1837, Nathaniel Bedford donated land to make up what is now Bedford Heights. The first post office was established in 1838, and it served the community until 1840. The first store opened in 1841; it was operated by Isaac Goodrich and his son-in-law Ebenezer Robinson. The first school was built in 1840; it taught children between the ages of five and twelve years old. In 1847, William Kiser built a gristmill on Whitehall Creek near present day Fairfield Avenue and School Street; it became one of the earliest mills on that stream. In 1850, Samuel Morse bought land north of Whitehall Creek for a mill site that he named after him – Morseville (now located within walking distance of central Bedford Heights). In 1861, George Stephenson donated land to make up what is now Fortieth Street east of School Street for an industrial park called Western Reserve Central Manufacturing Company (later United Metalurgical Corporation). This company manufactured products such as aluminum cans and railway ties before becoming defunct in 1989. The population reached 6,000 by 1910 but declined to 4,814 by 1920 due to World War I casualties and other factors including suburbanization within Cuyahoga County caused by new transportation developers such as Standard Oil/Mobil who had moved into central Ohio from Indiana during this time period.. However there has been recent growth with many new homes being constructed since 2000 inside or adjacent to central Bedfordhurst
There is no one definitive way to describe the history of coffee. It has been enjoyed by humans for as long as there have been humans, and it has likely played a significant role in their societies and economies. Some of the earliest references to coffee date back to 7,500 BC when Egyptians discovered the drink while on an expedition into Canaan. Coffee was also mentioned in Greek texts from around 1000 BC. In China, coffee was first drunk as tea in the 4th century AD. The Arabs began drinking coffee in the 8th century AD. Coffee spread throughout Europe through trade and travel. By 1500 AD, espresso had become a popular beverage throughout most of Europe. The first real outbreak of coffee-based diseases occurred in Indonesia during the 16th century, beginning with Dutch traders who brought coffee plants back to Asia with them during their visits there. Indonesian coffees were infected with two different types of beans – those grown near Mount Syrah in central Java and those grown at Bali – which caused people to develop symptoms such as fever, headache, diarrhea and vomiting (known collectively as “caffine”). These diseases were not widespread until after European colonialism came into place; however they did cause some loss for Indonesian traders and sailors because these diseases discouraged other countries from investing in java plantations where botanical variation might have led to new varieties that could be more resistant to infection by various harmful pests or pathogens (Fowler 1996:1). With advances in transportation technology over time, Coffee became increasingly available all over the world without having to go through ports like Singapore or Manila which limited its reach (Wang 2000:5). This open global distribution allowed different parts of the world to learn about this unique drink and eventually produce better quality cups of joe than before (Goudreau 1997:9-10; Wang 2000:5). One interesting note about this transition is that while different parts of the world produced high-quality beans at different times, all regions experienced a slight decline in quality between 1915 and 1945 due largely to World War II efforts (Wang 2000:5; Goudreau 1997:9-10). The variety found today at local roasters comes about because High Quality Coffee started off small—just six roasters worldwide producing high-quality cupcakes back when we only had samples from three sources (Fowler 1996:2).

In 1912, Dutch roasters started importing coffee from Arabia. The Swiss founded La Taza Coffee Co., Ltd. in 1914 and began exporting to the U.S. In 1930, the Jura region of Switzerland became the first area in Europe to produce whole bean coffee for consumer use In 1961, Mr. Marcus Samuelsson opened his own roastery and café, Selous Coffee House & Cafe in London, England In 1971, Starbucks Corporation was founded with its headquarters located at Seattle's Pike Place Market From 1975-1977, Starbucks purchased two small Indonesian coffeeshops called Nasi Goreng (Green Bean) and Bintang Kopi (Coffee Shop). These purchases were made as part of a strategic move by Starbucks to increase its presence outside of North America
Bedford Heights, Ohio is a town in Warren County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,948 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbus metropolitan area. The first inhabitants of Bedford Heights were the Delaware Indian tribe. They were driven out by English settlers in 1795 and replaced by the Native Americans. In 1812, John Bedloe founded what is now Bedford Heights after moving from Newark, New Jersey to begin a land speculation business in that area. A post office was established at Bedford Heights in 1814, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1837, Bedford Heights became one of fourteen townships within the newly formedWarren County. It incorporated as a town on November 1 of that year. The original town plat included a square mile (1 km²) of land east of downtown for schools and other public use; this square mile also included parts of present-day Arlington Township and much of today's Centerville Township. In 1870, when Warren County was created from portions of Summit and Athens counties, Bedford Heights applied for but did not receive incorporation into Athens township because its residents desired to keep their own name associated with their community rather than join Athens township under another name or number (eager to avoid becoming part of an urban center). In 1871 they did apply but again were unsuccessful so they changed their name to Bedford Heights Village instead which lasted until 1920 when it changed back to Bedford Heights Townships Incorporation #2 On February 11th 1925 there was a fire that destroyed most buildings including the Library which served as the main cultural center for the village throughout its history
Bedford Heights was once part of the town of Bedford, Ohio. The town was founded in 1792 and named for Sir George Bedford, 1st Baronet. It was disbanded in 1801 and its land became part of the new township of Bedford.
