The first Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf shop opened up in 1824 in what is now called Trump Tower on West Side Avenue. The shop was run by Amos Adams and his wife Hannah. At first, they only sold coffee beans, but later they started selling whole bean coffee too. In 1835, they also opened up their own roast house - which still stands today. Over time, other businesses popped up in Bedford Heights and eventually it became an entire city with its own economy. In 1951, the city changed its name to Bedford Heights Township and within ten years had turned into one of the most vibrant boroughs in New York City!
Bedford Heights, Ohio is a small town in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 2,822 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Middletown–Daytona, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in Bedford Heights were George and Sally Rohrer who came to Bedford Heights from Canada in 1824. They cleared a large piece of land and built their home on what is now South Main Street. In 1830 they married Sarah Jane King and moved to their present location on South Main Street which they named after their daughter Sarah Jane King Rohrer (1814-1885). When the Rohrers died in 1851, their two daughters inherited their mother's house and land on South Main Street. The first post office was established in 1834. The name for Bedford Heights changed from "Rohrer" to "Bedford" in 1868 when it became part of Dayton Township according to an act of the General Assembly Of The United Statesof America. In 1870, Edwin Bendix founded the Bethlehem Steel Company on North High Street which led to significant economic development for Bedford Heights over time including a bauxite mine that operated until 1916 and a foundry that produced American ironclad warships until 1915 until it closed down due to World War I social unrest; both plants remain extant today as part of Ross & Bendix Corporation Limited located across SR 772 from downtown Dayton off US 25 just north of interchange ramps with I-75/SR 519 southbound) . Bedford Heights, Ohio is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 8,873 at the 2010 census and has grown to 11,691 since 2000. It is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. Bedford Heights is located on the Scioto River in Mahoning County, between Findlay and Medina counties. Bedford Heights was founded by Revolutionary War veterans John Bedford and his wife Deborah Randolph Bedford in 1797 as a small farming community about 12 miles (19 km) northwest of Dayton on State Route 283. The Bedfords moved to Bedford Heights in 1801 after selling their farm near Dayton to Joseph Browning for $1,500 cash and horses. Browning named the community after himself, but it reverted back to its original name by 1827 when he sold it to John Dolan for $4,000 more than he had paid for it two years earlier. The first sawmill built in Bedford Heights was owned by George Stephenson & Brothers who erected it in 1809-10 just upstream of present-day Williamstown Road bridge over the Scioto River below what is now the village of South Lyon Township onthe Republican side of that river bank. That mill became one of four operated by Stephenson brothers along with those at Xenia (nowFairlawn), Holmesburg (now North Holmesburg), and Mayfield before they all went out of business during 1814-15 due primarily to low demand from traders visiting central Ohio because warfare had forced prices down everywhere else around that time- another reason why this area did not become industrialized until much later during American Civil War times when transportation became available throughout central Ohio from Cincinnati through Cleveland and then via Lake Erie route Amtrak operations made Dartmouth Junction possible In 1830 John Dolan built a gristmill on what is now West Side Drive which still operates today as one of only three remaining flour mills operating in central Ohio outside Cuyahoga Falls; other mills include those at Mayfield and Xenia which were also destroyed during America's Great Famine but were rebuilt soon afterwards In 1831 Dolan acquired an adjacent tract including present day South Lyon Township from Moses Mather for $2 per acre along with land eastward existing as part of Holmesburg township northward thereto some 50 acres extending into Medina county This total area would amount to 3 square miles or 98 acre(s) today . For many years thereafter Bedford Heights lay undeveloped save for a few scattered homes situated here and there among agricultural fields while commercial activity took place mostly along West Side Drive where merchants such as Jens Müller stored their goods awaiting shipping onto vessels coming upriver from points south past Toledo before continuing downstream via Canandaigua Lake until reaching Superior northeasterly routes mainline steamboats providing this important commerce with local suppliers resulted most notably here until relatively recently when Interstate 495 cut off most access easternmost reachable except via point west known locally as "The Horseshoe"although I495 access remains available nearby via several short distance roads paralleling I4 95 corridor running generally northwest/southwest
