Beavercreek is a town in Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 4,083 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati–Middletown–Wilmington Metropolitan Statistical Area. Beavercreek was founded by Pennsylvania Germans in 1797. The name "Beavercreek" likely comes from the Potawatomi word biawacooka ( meaning "the place where beavers live"). In 1814, the town became part of the new state of Ohio and incorporated as a village. In 1825, Beavercreek became a town when it merged with nearby Villages of Mechanicsburg and Westville. The first post office opened in Beavercreek on November 6, 1830. The growth of Beavercreek began to take hold during the early 19th century as farming families moved into the area to enjoy fresh air and good farmland. A small mill was built in 1827 and soon became one of the most important mills in central Ohio due to its production of flour and other goods for local markets. Growth continued during this time with several stores and businesses opening up along Interstate 71 which connected Beavercrike with much larger settlements throughout central Ohio including Middletown and Wilton Heights. By 1860, there were over 100 residents living in Beavercreek with businesses ranging from grocery stores to livery services as well as churches, schools, hotels/motels, agricultural land holdings, lumber yards and more. In 1870-71 an act was passed by Congress that provided for creation of rural electric service within each state within 10 years; however no such service was ever established within Ohio until 1918 when it evolved into Western Electric Company’s Dayton Division (later renamed Energy Northwest). On April 12th 1909 – just shy of 90 years after incorporation – Beaver Creek High School closed its doors for what would become known as “The Great Depression” although many students still attended Central High School located just east across I-71 from downtown while various other schools were closed throughout central OH due to lack of funding or superintendent vacancies at that time…. finally providing some relief for many families who had been struggling through tough times during those difficult years!

Beavercreek is a town in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 10,723 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron–Summit, OH-level Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Beavercreek were French traders and explorers who explored the area in the 1750s. The first settler in what is now Beavercreek was Nicholas Brown, who built a cabin on the east side of present day Beavercreek Township on July 6, 1768. By 1800, there were over 20 families living in Beavercreek Township. During the Indian Removal Act of 1830, most of present-day Cuyahoga County including Beavercreek Village and its surroundings were removed by settlers from their original homelands during that period. A small group of Native Americans resistance to removal attempted to remain until after General Andrew Jackson's army arrived and destroyed their villages on October 16th 1833; this began what is called "the Great Western migration". In 1836, George Washington was laid to rest near where he had been born about two miles west of downtown Akron when his body was brought back for burial from Mount Vernon (now Arlington National Cemetery). The townspeople erected a stone marker near Washington's remains on December 12th 1836. In 1907, Congress passed an act authorizing construction of a new courthouse within 100 blocks of central Akron – which would be used as the principal courthouse for both Summit county and Cuyahoga county after that territory was organized as those counties in 1900. That same year saw completion of cornerstone laying for the new courthouse with services being held on January 9th 1908 by Mayor J H Reynolds followed by dedication ceremonies on January 11th 1908; it served as the court house until 1974 when it was replaced by the current building which stands today adjacent to Central Park across from South Side High School District #2). Eager to capitalize on traffic generated by President Cleveland's successful campaign visit to western Ohio during his second term in office (January 20–24), businessmen started building homes around downtown Akron between 1887 and 1889 known as "Beaverbrook Heights." Many people moved into these homes before they became known as "Beavercreek." One hundred years later many residents still refer to themselves as "Airmen" or "Veterans" because memberships with local military units are common today among many residents/attendants at various civic events throughout Greater Akron & surrounding areas
