Beavercreek is a small town in central Ohio, United States. It is the county seat of Athens County. The population was 9,471 at the 2010 census. The name "Beavercreek" was given to the community by John Beall and others in 1814 when they were traveling through the area on their way from Cincinnati to Xenia. The first permanent settler in Beavercreek was George Rogers who built a home on the east side of what is now Delaware Street in 1824. Rogers served as surveyor for Athens County and made land donations which formed part of the initial surveys for Athens County. In 1830, James Wickersham purchased two tracts of land that became Beavercreek Township, one extending north to Canal Road and another south along Canalshore Boulevard to present-day Delaware Avenue. Wickersham named his new township after his friend, General David Butler whose forces had fought at Battle of Bunker Hill during the American Revolution. In 1836, a group of Germans led by Prentice Kapp established a farmstead called Tallow Run near what is now State Route 248 near Mount Carmel Cemetery on what is now Monroe Street in Beavercreek Township. This group continued to live there until 1840 when they moved away because of high taxes levied against them by Athens County officials. There are no records remaining from this time period but it seems that most likely some sort of settlement or farmstead developed before 1840 which may have been abandoned due to taxation efforts or changing circumstances (e.g., post-war immigration). It wasn't until 1850 that any real development occurred within Beavercreek Township withzik Denny moving from New York City and purchasing 160 acres (65 hectares) northeast of present day Delaware Avenue between Waterloo Road and Indian Creek in Beavercreek Township for $100 per acre ($2 per hectare). Denny named his new tract "Beavercreek" after his hometown in New York where he had been born just four years earlier! He started building homes here and soon enough many people had moved into this developing community located just outside today's downtown Athens/Beavercawk borderline on Canalshore Boulevard/Delaware Ave.. Today's businesses located here include: JG Ballard Hardware & HomeStore, Renaissance Tire & Auto Care Center, Starbucks Coffee Company & Dunkin' Donuts coffee shop - all anchored around original buildings dating back to about 1920s!

Beavercreek is a town in Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 8,867 at the 2010 census. The name comes from the Miami and Erie Canal which passes through the town. Beavercreek was laid out in 1829 by General James Wilkinson and named for Beaver Creek which flows through the town. It wasn't until 1856 that Beavercreek incorporated as a village. In 1892, it became a town and has remained so since. The first settler in Beavercreek was John Newmark who built a cabin on the east side of what is now State Route 6 west of present day Beavercreek Village. Newmark's son-in-law, Samuel Smith, also built a cabin on the same property in 1836 but it was destroyed by Indians in 1840 during their war with the Shawnee tribe. In 1850, James Wilkinson donated land to form what is now State Route 6 east of present day Beavercreek Village and two years later he donated another tract of land to create what is today Town Hall Square. This square contains both original buildings from when Beavercreek incorporation occurred as well as additions and renovations made over time including updates to building codes which took place in 1984/85 according to local historian Dragan Popovici (see video below).

In 1915, the city was consolidated with nearby Mansfield into one municipality. During World War II, Beavercreek played an important role in the development of munitions factories in central Ohio. After the war, it experienced rapid growth as a bedroom community for suburban residents in Greater Cleveland. However, during the 1990s and 2000s there has been significant gentrification of its core business district due to high-end real estate developments near Interstate 77 and I-675.
