The Beavercreek, Ohio Army National Guard is a unit of the United States military and is part of the Army Reserve. The unit was organized on December 12, 1907 as the 4th Infantry Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry. The regiment was redesignated as the 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment on January 3, 1916; and again as the 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment on November 11, 1918. It was dismounted on July 15, 1921 and reorganized as an infantry battalion (1/5) on October 6 that year. From September 1926 to May 1929 it served in China with the Far East Expeditionary Force under Lieutenant General George Armstrong Custer. The battalion also served in Europe from 1941-1945 with Second World War service at Anzio Beachhead from June 1944 until February 1945 and at Kasserine Pass from April 2–May 8 1944. It returned home to Cleveland on October 7 1946 having spent almost three years overseas.
Beavercreek is a small town in Columbiana County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,986 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. Beavercreek is located on the Beaver River and is bordered by Cincinnati to the east, Dayton to the north, Miamisburg to the south, and Nelson Township to the west. The first settler in Beavercreek was John Fenton in 1814. In 1827, James Applewhite sold land that would become what is now Beavercreek. In 1830–31, Major John Haskell bought land in what became Beavercreek from Fenton. The village started as a small stop on a road between Cincinnati and Dayton. By 1840 it hadgrown into a full-fledged town with a store and two churches. In 1845–46 Daniel Webster built a cabin on an island in the river near where present day Sixth Street and Raccoon Creek meet In 1848 David Learned built a log cabin on Sixty-Third Street just upstream from today's Post Office building The first school was built in 1850 by Mrs Ann Pemberton (later teacher). A new school was built for students in 1861 by Wm Hite In 1865 Rev C D Howe purchased 160 acres of land east of town for $4 000 which he donated for use as an agricultural college

Beavercreek is a town in Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,813 at the 2000 census. The name is derived from the Delaware word beaver and the creek which flows through it. The first settler in what is now Beavercreek was John Marshall who arrived in 1797 and named his land "Beaver Creek" after the animals that were used to transport goods over the stream. The town of Beavercreek was founded on November 10, 1810 by nine pioneers under the leadership of Daniel Boone. They named their settlement after a beaver they had seen swimming across a creek near their home. One of the early stores in Beavercreek was built by William Hite and operated for 15 years before being bought out by George Stephenson and others in 1857. In 1866, part of Beavercreek became an incorporated village when all but three of its residents voted to become one entity with its own board of trustees. It remained an unincorporated village until it merged with nearby Mentor on February 14, 1984. In 1907, construction began on what would become Nationwide Children's Hospital – one of America's earliest pediatric hospitals – as part of a larger project to improve medical care for children throughout central Ohio. Construction continued through World War II and into post-war years as Nationwide grew into one of Columbus' leading health organizations with clinics throughout the county and around the world (including locations in Paris, Vienna, Tokyo). In 1980, Nationwide merged with Shriners Hospitals Inc., forming National Healthcare System (NHS) – oneof America's largest healthcare providers with more than 1 million patients served nationwide including acute care facilities across 45 states and Puerto Rico . On July 1st 2013 NHS announced plans to merge with Aetna Inc., creating America's largest insurance company (over $100 billion in assets) . On October 22nd 2014 both Aetna and NHS filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection . As a result , approximately 26% off AmeriHealth Group’s stock value resulted due to this merger announcement alone
Beavercreek was founded in 1796 by Captain John Beaver and his wife, Susanna. The first post office was established in 1805. The town became a US state in 1907.
